A man/woman who abuses a child should be castrated publicly with raffle tickets sold and the winner gets to have the honor of carrying the sentence.
I would buy as many tickets as I can afford.

Dalzi, I understand your position. I have the same point of view, but I think that you should be more pragmatic. That woman, if she goes to the police (the same police that didn't convict the brother for killing his baby sister), it could backfire not only against her, but against her daughter too!

What would an angry child-molesting father do to both the mother and the child when he hears his mother publicly accused him of molesting his daughter? This in a society where apparently, child molestations are very common, and where police is not concerned about such things, where the rule of law does not exist...

When the daughter is found pregnant, her life is over... Many Lebanese and Arabs criticize the West for some of the decadent behavior that exist there. At least here, the police WILL protect you, young-mothers won't be shot by their brothers without impunity, and will actually get help from society!

I know what you mean.but if the one who is scared of her husband shut up about his act i think that she is encouraging him to carry on,even if police wont interfere maybe then she should put an end in a way or another,i dont believe that mums should accept it due to fear but should do their utmost to prevent their husbands or whoever from more harm to their defendless kids even if it takes to shooting them...it is a sin to see that and just ignore it

Well as someone said, every situation is unique. I don't even believe the mother knew at the time... Probably she got to know once it was too late. Her son shot her husband, so... We don't know all the details. But the thing is, most mothers don't even know it happens... Incestuous fathers sometimes show their love the same way normal loving fathers do, so that nothing could be suspected...

I'm just speculating of course. I'm just saying that we can't directly accuse the mother, in a country where woman's rights are not really common! I have heard about many girls getting married when they were still children (in Lebanon)! It is practically legal to kill a woman for having sex with someone other than her husband (even if she doesn't have a husband yet).

Also, divorced women are left with nothing! They'll become a disgrace in an intolerant society! So blaming the mother is a bit easy for people who are raised by "western" values!

concerning mothers donno about their husband's relation with her kidsDo u believe in that...mums always sense something wrong but donno why they shut up at times these mums should be punished equally with their husbands.
whereas divorced women are left with nothing you are right..what a pity in western world women get half what her husband earns women are protected legally...I will always blame mothers for not stopping it no matter what it will cost her..she is supposed to look after her kids not sit and look at them being hurt and not moving a finger to stop it

I totally agree Lady Forever! If that happened in a western country and it was proven that the mother knew about what was happening, then they should be punished, not just for "non-assistance for people in danger", but as accomplices!

But you have to see what her options are:
- getting divorced, dad gets custody, things get worse
- staying silent, but trying to protect her daughter the most it can
- getting killed, along with her daughter...

Of course we all prefer she could get divorced, get custody of the kids AND get monthly checks from her husband. But I don't think it is as simple as that. Besides, I guess the crime in this case was known when the girl got pregnant, not before... But if she did know, we can't blame her as much as we could blame a western mother for doing the same...

I personnaly blame the father first of being such a disgusting being but then, I will blame the mother like many of you said just because she was silence about everything that happened to her kid (boy or girl).

But I also blame the arabic world and the society of making sex such a taboo that child sexual abuse become more than 15% of it and men become more disgusting animals than ever specially the ones that rape kids, rape women and rape men (that happens too)
