in 2005, we had a unanimous decision to vote for FPM.
recently, all my family(brothers,sisters, cousins,uncles etc...including myself)
had a meeting, we discussed the elections, there were various opinions
and we couldn't reach a unanimous decision so....we had to resort
to an internal voting process(which we agreed upon when we formed
the family council), the results by majority were that we all will be voting
for the LF.
Come election day, you should suppress any dissenting urge that might surface for you will be endagering one of the strangest Lebanese traditions.
Let's just hope you vote in Bsharre.
I don't understand. Why doesn't each one vote according to his convictions ?
because it has always been like this.
because in case of any problems(health, economical etc...),
i only find my family standing by me and i stand by them. it's family.
@fidelio, we vote in different areas, some of us vote in Chouf, others
in Baabda, many in Kessrwen.

Politics shouldn't have to deal with family ties. That's all. Still, I would rather see you voting for kroud el homor then worsening your relationship with your relatives. :) Let's just hope this mentality will eventually vanish from our rotten society.

actually, it's not a big deal. most probably, another meeting will be held
after the announcements of the election lists(most probably during
easter time because everyone will be free then). we will see what happens
until then.

This is hilarious, so you hold a meeting and you decide for who everyone has to vote? What if someone is not convinced by the decision, he would vote anyways just so the others won't be upset?
And about family ties, you probably have a crooked way of understanding what a family means. A family SHOULD stand by you, a family SHOULD be there for you NO MATTER WHAT. What your family is doing is a ghetto type of behavior, which exterminates freedom.
In my family, we have from everything (or almost), we have FPMers, we have people who like Hariri, others who like HA, others who like Nassib Lahoud, others who like Boutros Harb, but this never ever kept us from KILLING ourselves for each other, we respect each other's ideas and choices, not that we do not have heated conversations, but they always end up with laughs and lots of good wine :)
This year my family decided to vote for Carlos eddeh, he gave my father tanket benzine this summer and he gave my brother 3elbet sardine 3an roo7 el shahid....
that's my family decision, we don't care for Lebanon as long as the benzine is filling our cars and the Sardines is filling our stomachs.

we don't have anyone affiliated to any political party....so no one is going
to be upset and i don't consider it a ghetto type of decision. consider it
like a small political party, when the decision is taken(unanimous or
by vote), all the members execute. for example, last time we all voted
for FPM. we don't have any traitors among us and we love Lebanon as
much as you do.

No one doubts your love for Lebanon or your family, but I think it's weird that you take a unanimous decision to vote for someone even it is not within your convictions.
Electing different people will not lessen your love for your family. It's your right to vote for who you believe will represent you best and having a whole family take a meeting to make 1 decision is not really democratic, but then again, that's my opinion.
