yes,
it doesn't represent the Lebanese people, and it has failed once again, this time in a time of war.

no. although they have failed they shouldn't step down becuase it will cause more instability. i also think that sinioura has gained some respect internationally and this could potentially help the recovery in the short term. i do think that early elections should be held as soon as the electoral law has been changed.

i couldn't resist commenting on this part: he gained some respect by crying wherever he went and no matter who we talked to?
he didn't even reply to the israeli foreign minister when she made fun of his tears and said that instead of crying, he should be working to save his country....

what will cause more instability is if the government stays as it is. Sinioura has done a great job, maybe Tarek Mitri too, but all the other ministers should leave. A government of national unity should be formed as soon as possible.

i don't think he could have done anything - or anyone for that matter - to stop what was happening. i think he has gained some respect, whether it's founded is another matter but this is currency that could be used in the short term. you can't just keep changing governments at every whim otherwise the country will be impossible to govern ever.

I think this government should stay and I hope it will. It represents more than 80% of the Lebanese people including hezbullah.

Dont forget hezbullah is in the government and some figures put the shia in Lebanon at 40% of the population. That means it represents 100% of Shia , it also represents 70% of Druze and 80% of Sunni and if you add the palestinians who will stay permanently in Lebanon, this fuigure can go even higher. Also it has the backing of at least 40 out the 64 christian deputies.I am not sure what percentage that is of the population but I imagine at least 35% of the christians.
You may have another formula and I am sure if we use your figures there is no more than5% difference between us.
