Default Winners & losers - 13th June 2009

I guess it is about time we breach that subject.
who won and who lost.
my take.

WINNERS:

1-saad and the sunna ( BIGGEST WINNERS OF ALL).
2-jumblatt.
3-Sleiman Beik Frangieh
4-GENERAL ( FPM) but to a lesser degree.
5-Syria/ Saudi.
6-Tashnaq ( KING MAKER IN MATEN for the forseable future).

LOSERS:

1-kataeb...the least though
2-boun & co..hardest
3-batrak....
4-mm (jalbout al maten) and his lallousty by extension.( BIGGEST LOSER)

i left out many others because of the peculiarity of their situations (ms, sg, HA,karami,skaff,etc....)

Losers:
Walid Jumblatt (10 MP bloc instead of 15) his role has become secondary in 14 March, but he could still be a threat to Hariri
FPM, they reached a number a looot lower than expected
SF, The margin of difference was shockingly small in Zgharta, plus Fayez Ghosn failed against all expectations.
LF: very very very small size even within their alliance!
Skaff: Probably biggest loser
Batrak: Kesserwan was a big blow for him
MS: Jbeil was a big blow for him
Safadi and Mikati: Didin't reach their ambitions
Winners: Dory Chamoun :P
Kataeb, they got a number bigger than expected
Hariri, biggest winner of all, almost monopoly over the power!

Unknown yet: HA & Berri, it depends of the coming few days!

i don't know how you make the calculations but without Jumblatt, there
is no majority. he is the only primary in 14 azar.

Biggest loser for muwalet was Michel Murr.
Biggest loser for mu3arada was ustaz Nabih Berri. (Jezzine).
estez Berri would not have been a loser if he had let go of Jezzine for the sake of the mu3arada. He didn't and the result was that the Shi3a voted in their majority for Tayyar.. more than losing those 3 seats, the bigger loss was that the Jezzine experience proved that Hezbollah is the king in South Lebanon in terms of Shi3a votes & Amal is at best representative of 10%.
I can tell u for sure that there is shock and disbelief in Amal & especially among estez Berri's close circle and estez Berri himself. it was a humiliating defeat and Hezbollah had warned him of it and Hezbollah knew it coming that is why it was recommended that Hezbollah supporters would vote 2-1 and not 3-0.... :) to lessen the impact.. that didn't work out of course... which shows that the alliance between tayyar & Hezbollah is not just leadership level , there is also closeness and sympathy on the popular level.

Do you still have doubts that HA and Hariri are the biggest winners? When I hear Berri talking about a trip to Syria with Hariri and Joumblat after the elections, I cannot say more than lol...

Jumblatt will not shift sides. He is maneuvring through his public statements in order to boost his bargaining position in M14. Hariri knows he can't do anything without him, & his statements may be an implicit threat to him not to sideline him and boost the Christian M14 ppl.

he doesn't have to switch sides, if they don't do what he wants
he can sit in the middle then he will get whatever he wants.
