On a personal basis, I cannot swallow voting for an SSNP candidate. However, I will abide by what FPM decides and vote zay ma hiyye!

So practicaly you'll be voting against your personal beliefs to satisfy the tribal superior calculations; no wonder why they insist on sticking us with the label of ''third world''.

this is what is called democracy in the party everyone will give his opinion and at the end whatever the majority decides within the party all members will follow.
NB: of course that doesn't apply to people that are not in a party.

if you'll allow me to interject on the final statement, party members are supposed to abide by the decision of the party. by the same token that after internal elections, and if the candidates you vote for dont make it to the party leadership, you do not quit the party and leave.

I am against voting for SSNP.

however nidale as a person, is much better than Amine, Murr, Nassib Lahhoud, ghassan ash2ar, sami gemayel, and eddi abi ellameh. And i will vote for her to keep the others from making it to the parliament, yes.

despite appearances, i do not back FPM for political reasons, but rather for human ones. i dont care if the leader of the country is a commi or a capitalist, an LFer or an SSNP, a Christian or Muslem, as long he or she has what defines a human being: ethics, values, and humanity. when those attributes are available in a person all other issues can be easily solved.

so in comparison to the bunch she may be running against (including her brother) she gets my vote.

Not voting for the SSNP candidate in Maten is a free pass to Sami Gemayel, lets say Sami got 35000 votes and the 7 candidates on our list got 40000 apart from the SSNP candidate who got 34500 votes. Oh and we might very well lose the majority by one seat.

Without forgetting the fact the SSNP will be very much aware of this thread and some of the replies and they will in return not vote for the FPM candidates.

Basita, what's wrong with Michel el Murr or Eddy abi Lama3 or Nasib Lahoud? let them win the whole 8 seats in Maten and whats wrong in Sanyoura and Saadouldine? Let them take the majority and rule the country for the next 4 years.

There is a universal battle to defeat FPM, while some FPMers are proudly practicing the political suicide.

So even if it contradicts your beliefs, you'll go along. I don't understand how this democracy works; probably the reason why i'll never join a party in Lebanon, je n serais jamais endoctriné .

Do you think when Hilary Clinton campaigned for Obama, she was doing that out of personal beliefs or to satisfy superior tribal calculations?

You might want to check the definition of partisanship before starting to throw around the tribalism mumbo jumbo

wikepedia
In politics, a partisan is a committed member of a party.

X, its a matter of principle for me, i don't care if Sami Gmayyel wins or loses, neither do i care if March 14 take the whole parliament, i'll vote according to my beliefs.

Not a kid like Sami Gmayyel will make me change my principles, just for the sake of making a minor temporary score; if i supported FPM in the first place years ago it was because of conviction and belief in a cause, not as in to settle a score with someone.

You (X, Diabolo..etc) are working for the winning of FPM, i'd understand that u'd take such positions, but i'll preserve my right to keep a free mind.
