21st April 2009
I have a simple question: If the opposition wins the election in June, will the loyalists give the new government a chance to see what it could do? Or will you fight it right from the start?
I am an independent, and if HA/FPM is the choice of the people, then they become the State, and I'm willing to give them a chance.

I am a pro-FPMer but I won't give too much hope to a government with Berri and SSNP in it.
I think that the FPM could do great things, but I'm afraid that the other opposition parties could destroy FPM's work and won't let it work the way it's supposed to.
I trust Hezbollah more than AMAL and would prefer that they hold most of the shiite seats in the government.
As for SSNP, well, they could stay MPs, it's a better place for them there.

Will you? | I hope they fight the government from the start... otherwise the "new" government might just slip back to being similar to the "old" one. The opposition's job is to keep the government under watch and keep fighting it, and the government's job is to do its best to serve the people. If the government does a good job (fighting corruption, sound economic policies, security, etc.), the opposition will have nothing to fight with, and the people will have no reason to hate the government. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to loubnaniTO For This Useful Post: | | | Orange Room Supporter

totally agreed with both. a non-FPMer has said it best, i must say. It is what i believe, should be the essence of our campiagn: "you've tried the others for 20 years... and nothing happened. Give us a try."
we need the people to give us a sincere chance here and whatever opposition that forms thereafter should be our watchdog [without turning it into a vendetta]. | | | | | Registered Member

Will you? | The Loyalist should demand to have 1/3 plus 1 and should wine all the time, resign when they feel like it, help with the parliment closure for years at a time, arrange for a sit down in the downtown and block business and may be launch a destructive war aginst our neighbours and push the economy few years behind and most of all few bombs here and there so we scare the tourist and help maitain the savage image of Lebanon that the mou3arada created for us. | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

Furthermore, who cares about Lebanon's image when its core is destroyed with the largest debt per capita in the world?
Rafik Hariri and his little slaves, along with the Syrian occuation destroyed Lebanon almost to the the point of no return. GMA and SHN will rebuild it and you can wine about it all you want. | | | | | Registered Member

Will you? | No they won't! Was this government given a chance?? They start a war, they start a sit-in, block parliament, riot in the streets! If the opposition wins (and that's a huge if) they will be fought every step of the way! | | | | | | |
