But don't u think that Lebanese do need some rules and regulations in order to have a more pleasant life even though it makes life "boring and dull"? | | | | | Registered Member

Realistically, I won't...
I want my kids to grow up in a country where they have opportunities and where, above all, law is sacred... It depends what you guys value the most...
I think we are asking the question the wrong way. The immigration has always been parts of the Lebanese genes and it is a good thing. Think of Gibran Khalil Gebran, Hassan Kamel el Sabbah, Carlos Ghosn, John Mack (the CEO of Morgan Stanley), Ralph Nader, etc.
The question we should be asking ourselves is how to strengthen those links with our diaspora so that people leaving lebanon are not "lost" for Lebanon and we create some back and forth movements (hint, look at our southern neighbour).
One sentence that shocked me one day. In Paris one Lebanese (spoiled rich kid a la Nayla) said to me: "Really, you work till 7:00 pm every week day? You're like a slave!!! Are you so desparate for the money? I would never do that" | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Revolution1989 For This Useful Post: | | | Orange Room Moderator

law bada tchateh kenit ghayamit..... | Wolf, noone is comparing Lebanon to Canada. Heh, last time I checked, Lebanese were immigrating to Canada and not vice versa.
We are talking here about all of us living in diaspora, if we are still interested in our mother country, and if we count one day to return to it, we have to contribute in order to make it a country where we can live there almost like we do in Canada or other countries.
We are supporting people, who believe in change and reform, who wants to lift Lebanon to a higher level. Those people if given a chance, they will provide us with just 1 bill for water to pay, 1 bill for electricity to pay, security and not having to pay for major operations in hospitals.
The mere fact that you are here in this forum means you didn't forget your motherland, you are just too angry at it and I understand you very well. If you believe in improving Lebanon, to the level you wish for, all you have to do is get your ..... to Lebanon on the 7th of June and vote for the people who are working for change and reform.

I Totaly agree with you.
but no matter what we do, the others will not allow us, biggest example is Israel. It will not allow Lebanon to breath, be it financaly, or another round of
usless war.
it is not only Lebanon that needs to help itself but the others too. | | | | | Registered Member

It is our job to fulfill our duty, and leave the rest for god, for circumstance and for luck.
It is not easy to be Lebanese, this I surely learned very well. | | | | | | |
