Its a given fact the WJ has been on the winning side since 1975. Ethics and loyalty aside, he is the fox of lebanese politics. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be on the next winning boat too, whoever that may be.
I think the price is going to be more than a couple of MPs.
The return of the mouhajarrine is a more likely price to be paid.

Actually I wouldn't mind allying with Joumblatt, just on the condition that this time we decide how many seats he gets!

Anybody has the speech made by Mohammad Fneich today in which he praised his "shared history" with Jumblatt.

Not so long ago, Jumblatt wanted to take rockets and throw them at Dahieh, and Hassan Nasrallah wanted to chop Jumblatt's hand off.

As for the displaced returning to the mountains, if HA reconciles with Jumblatt without resolving that issue, then it will be the biggest ever slap in the face to FPM.

I personally doubt Jumblatt will allow a return of the Christians because it will mean the end of his little kingdom.

LOL everytime you try to analyze something your subconscious works on turning the analysis towards your biggest inner fantasy, isolating FPM

I wasn't analyzing anything. That's what FPM'ers here say, that the issue of HA reconciling with Jumblatt is tied to the issue of the Christians returning to the mountains.

Jumblatt isn't different from all the other sectarian players in Lebanon (which is pretty much everyone). They all play the game to 'supposedly' safeguard their sect. However, it isn't the sect they're safeguarding, it's their own personal power and prestige within their communities.

Many are right in stating that Jumblatt is the undisputed leader of the Druze. His interest isn't necessarily in the best interests of the Druze community. He wants to remain the undisputed leader of the Druze, at any cost, even at the cost of his own community.

It is in the best interest of the Druze, as well as all sects in Lebanon, to breakdown the sectarian barriers and unite on a national level with a national approach and focus. It is in everyone's interest to fuse the various sectarian identities into a single national identity that will produce a national system with a human rights clause.

All sectarian leaders, including Jumblatt, successfully drum up the fear card within their own communities in order to justify their leadership. But the best way to safeguard the rights of all religious communities in Lebanon is to produce a national secular system that will treat everyone as equal citizens and recognise each individuals' human rights.

Jumblatt knows this, Geagea knows this, Hariri knows this. But it isn't in their interests to produce a national system, because it will diminish their roles as sectarian leaders. They only survive as tribal leaders because they succeed in frightening their respective communities into submission.

I propose that Jumblatt be accepted into the Opposition fold on one condition that must be signed in an MOU... that he fully support the creation of a national secular system and a national constitution. This is the line Hizballah and the FPM have agreed upon, and this is the line that must be endorsed.

I will oppose any "alliance" with any party that doesn't fully endorse secularism, no preconditions.

Of course, channels can be open, discussions and dialogues can take place, which will improve the overall stability in the country, but I recommend we exercise caution in any talk of a MoU with either Jumblatt, Hariri or Geagea.
