People of Zgharta (I can, at least, speak on my behalf, Agent Orange and Zghertewe) are proud of General Karam. GK is an honorable man that fought in the ranks of Lebanese army against the Syrian forces. GK spent decent amount of time in Syrian prisons for his association with the Lebanese army. GK is well respected and well loved in Zgharta by Marada and FPM supporters, alike…

GK is the son of Zgharta, Karam family and Lebanese Army before GK was FPMer.

You know what, maybe and maybe at one point I hoped and wanted GFK to be representing Zgharteh. But after the attitude of some FPMers and your thinking, I really hope he does not even sniff it. So all the people like bachir and any fpmer that has a problem with that can take their vote and cast it to Micho bek. Good luck..
And for you bachir to claim that salim bek spent his entire life in cabarets, your dead wrong. When he was fighting during the civil war 75-77, your generals........And during the same period, when he was injured & laying in the hospital fighting for his life, your generals.......
Obviously, your memory doesnt go back that far, or it chooses not to.
Again, you act like FPMers are God sent, well I hate to burst your bubble, you are not. And I hope because of your arrogance, you dont pay for it in the upcoming elections.

No one has any problem with GFK as MP from Zgharta. At this point, it seems the Karam family (largest family with largest number of supporters of FPM since 1989) wants Salim Karam. The Karam family wants to "regained" their seat in Zgharta, North and Lebanon under the family name. Sorry, I can not fully explain why. This issue goes back as far as the late 1800's.

I can only imagine what is going to happen when Salim Karam becomes MP.

you prefer to see Micho then to see Fayez Karam for a very simple reason, you dont want parties to take a seat in Zgharta, you want to keep the families. and Fayez Karam is not "Karam family"'s candidate, he is FPM's candidate, if he was the family's candidate I wouldnt care if he will be in the list or not, i wouldnt feel concerned about him.

but how can I ask the FPMers in Zgharta who belongs to families like Mwaad and Makari, Fenianos.... and all the other families to vote for "families" like Karam and Frangieh and Dweihi? they are FPMers coz they are against the families traditions, and now i have to ask them to vote for "families" but not their own families.

but u missed one point, back in 2000 when Salim Karam went to France and coordinated with GMA then came back and run for elections where was for example the others like Neamtallah Abi Nasr, Pierre Daccache, Elias Skaff, Fares Boueiz .... and the list goes on ... i know they were all against he Harriri polilicies but did anyone dare to say that he represents the spirit of FPM ........ NAAAAAAAAA
For me i don't have any problem with the name listed above but i have to let u see the point.... in 2005 Fadi Barakat deserved to be MP but for electoral strategies the choice went on Neamtallah, Gilberte Zouein, Youssef Khalil ....

Back to the main topic, Fayez and Salim represents the Karam family and the FPM. Hardcore FPMers prefer Fayez Karam and Hardcore Karam prefers Salim Karam, we shouldn't make a big issue about it .... the one who has the best chance is going to be the OPPOSITION candidate in Zgharta

What one likes to see happen and what will end up actually happening are not always identical.

We're making an issue when I think there shouldn't be one. Regardless if the MP would be Salim Karam or Fayez Karam, they will both represent the opposition. One more MP for the opposition... and this is our goal.

Everyone here is discussing what they would like to see happen. What will end up actually happening is Aoun, Frangieh, Salim and Fayez meeting and deciding together who the candidate will be based on what will best serve the opposition as a whole. Beyond that, to me, names are irrelevant.
