Sfeir speaks what others don't dare say! If you were to conduct a poll of all Lebanese don't you think that a majority would agree that HA cares more about Iran's interests than those of Lebanon!? Of course they would! He's not a politician so he can say exactly how he and the majority of Lebanese feel!

naharnetSfeir: Hizbullah Serves Iran's Interest over Lebanon's

Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir said that there is "someone in the interior who is leaning on exterior force to attain parliamentary and ministerial gains". In that context, Sfeir considered that Hizbullah is serving Iran's interest more than serving Lebanon's one.
In an interview with Al-Massira weekly, Sfeir said that March 14 should have taken command of the rule in Lebanon after the June 7 parliamentary elections. The Maronite Patriarch announced that arms and democracy do not match, in the same manner that parliamentary majority and minority cannot be combined in one government.

While Sfeir stressed that foreign interventions were standing in the way of forming the anticipated government, he also added that Syria cannot be solely held responsible in terms of those interventions.

The Maronite Patriarch said that weaponry should be in the hands of the Lebanese Army only, warning from reaching a stage that pushes everyone to arm.
Sfeir stressed that there are some parties in Lebanon who wish welfare for other countries instead of wishing it for their own country.
Answering a question, Sfeir said that he will not ask PSP leader MP Walid Jumblat to change his current localization nor ask him to adhere to it.

On the other hand, Sfeir ridiculed the atmospheres spreading news about the existence of a severance of relations with Pope Benedict XVI.

naharnetQassem Snaps Back at Sfeir, Says Resistance is Lebanon's Strength

Hizbullah's Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem lashed out at Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir without naming him, saying "the Resistance is Lebanon's strength and we will not renounce it … let the screamers scream as they want, we will preserve a strong Lebanon and we will not accept a weak Lebanon anymore".
During his sponsorship of an educational ceremony in Haret Horeik on Friday, Qassem said: "The Resistance accomplished a liberation in 2002 and a victory in 2006, where would Lebanon be without its resistance, army, and people, who stood shoulder by shoulder to combat Israel bravely and sternly?"

Qassem added that "the Resistance is national and not sectarian because it liberated the land, and did not liberate a geographical spot for narrow aims".

Hizbullah's number two considered that Hizbullah's resistance is not part of the political game nor a part of the "regional and international bazaar".

On the other hand, Qassem said that all doors were open to form a national unity government, stressing that there was no other option after the formation had been put on the right track, 15-10-5 formula had been agreed on, and the coming of the green light from regional and international powers.

Qassem denounced the "noise that erupts after any transient incident in the South, in the same time that Israel violates the (Lebanese) airspace so many times and aggresses against Lebanon".

I cant wait for the day when ALL religious figures stop talking about political issues. Let them pray in their churches and mosques.

Hariri, Jounblatt, Fatfat, Hmedeh, 3alloush, i may even say, Geagea, Gemayel were worried about HA weapons and were attacking FPM indirectly because of these weapons..

hence, the increased attacks since the signature of MoU... hence the recurrent reminder of GMA's interview with Pat Robertson, or the SALSRA gained by FPMers after fierce battle in Washington... hence the continuous emphasis by Hariri and Co. on one sentence in the Alternative of 2005 about the weapons in the hands of the army and only the army... hence, the reminder that GMA fought a word against LF as a militia in 1990 because they were not legal....

apparently, the problems of all those politicians with HA's weapons were the fuel behind their attacks on GMA which could be considered as indirectly meant for HA...

BUT, with Batrak Sfeir, it seems to be the opposite... all his actions and statements are caused by his hatred to GMA... he doesn't care about HA, Hariri, Lebanon, Christians, Maronites, Jesus, Virgin Mary, and all the Angels... he has one nightmare, one obsession, GMA... he wakes up every morning tormented by his hatred to this mortal person by the name of GMA and nothing will stop him from expressing his hate....
