Default What does Hariri have against ministers Baroud and Bassil - 18th July 2009

"الديار": الحريري يبدي ملاحظات على عودة بارود وباسيل للحكومة

18 تموز 2009
اشارت صحيفة "الديار" الى ان الرئيس المكلف تشكيل الحكومة سعد الحريري يبدي ملاحظات على عودة وزير الداخلية زياد بارود الى وزارة الداخلية وكذلك وزير الاتصالات جبران باسيل،

those 2 ministers were the top performers in the current govt. why would Hariri have any criticism regarding their performance?

Is the performance of the likes of Marouni, Najjar, Elias el Murr better than the aforementioned 2????

Aldyiar Sources are not that reliable... But I wouldn't be surprised that Hariri is not looking forward to include these 2 ministers in the gov cabinet as they will outshaddow him since they have been the best performers in the previous gov..

Its because bassil is under the umbrella of FPM and he is a relative to GMA.
Baroud is under the umrella of GMS.
Hariri is a sect and he wants to rule alone.
Those 2 were doing a great in the government.

FPM and GMA always used to say that the ministry is not jeyzet tardiyyé for the people who lost the elections. Gebran Bassil wanted to be an MP and failed. if he wanted to solely be a minister, he shouldn't have run in the elections. Those are FPM's principles. and we should be sticking to it.

GMA like 100 times criticized the idea of giving ministries to loser. let us at least show some sort of credibility. There's a hundred FPM personalities that are more than fit to become ministers. Mario Aoun and Issam Abou jamra are not our greatest assests. sometimes i really don't understand FPM.

this is an interesting post written earlier by VIKING about baroud.

Quote:
The reason I am openning this thread is not political.. but from a pure security angle. Barroud is a bad Minister of Interior - good thinker but bad minister - TO WEAK

Never in Lebanon history, we had the issue of "individual security"... we always had "mass security" problems due the war... but never direct threats against ordinary people.

Since Barroud has taken this ministry, the number of attacks against individuals has been ENORMOUS...

Not even few years ago, we were proud that Lebanon was a safe place at the personal level and that girls could walk alone in mini skirt without beiing raped (forget the wazaouez).

Situation now :

1 - The number of car jacking is extremely high .. not a single day pass without a car beeing snatched from his owner.. 90% of attacks are in Christian districts.
Yesterday, before yesterday, tonight, tomorrow and so on. These attacks are violent and sometimes if it is a girl.. Allah yestor.
You can't anymore take your 4x4 or luxurious car without beiing attacked.

2 - Rapes attempts.
One of my friend was walking in Gemayze 1 month ago.. and at 3 AM, she walked in the parallel street (down) to take her car which was parked.
3 men came to her, beat her and tried to rape her. They succeeded in taking her next to the wall of a building and tried to pull out her clothes. They could succeed starting pulling down her trousers but at the end.. he managed to escape after a fight.
My friend is very strong, she practice more than 7 hours of sports per week.

Another story happened with my very good friend.. a car started following her for 30 min and each time she stopped (to escape in a shop), they waited.. then started again. Thanks God, she lived next to the UK embassy so there is an Army checkpoint. they stopped at this level.

Consequences:
Ladies are now afraid of going alone in sexy clothes (never happenned in Lebanon history)... people are afraid of driving 4*4 cars... girls dont want to go alone.
If you are single and you live far... then you have a big problem.
Now this is becoming a major society problem.. and ALL people think twice before wearing sexy or taking their beautiful car.

Actions:
- Remain vigilent. If you see something, immediatly call the ISF and INTERVENE. It can be by shouting, fighting or crashing your car against these animals.

- Buy "anti agression sprays" or "CS" 2%. These sprays cost around 5-7$ and are extremely usefull (i used in in France years ago). This spray paralyze the attacker - spray him AND beat him.

- Have the ISF number memorized in a quick dial mode. If anything, it takes 1 second to call the ISF.. because when there is a problem, you wont have time to call them

- Buy GPS tracking systems. It now cost very cheap - keep it always in your car so we can follow in live the direction of the car.
FOr information, you can also keep a GPS enabled phone, download GOOGLE MAPS (FREE) and register to LATITUDE (FREE). This system will allow you to track your car. Make sure this phone is hidden somewhere in the car, but still accessible for the satelite (behind the windshield mirror) - dont forget to connect it directly to the power source permanent.

- Organize yourselves for street monitoring in groups. Again not related to politics. Turn the streets in key places, and monitor.

Barroud :He is doing nothing about it.
1/ For information, Lebanon is paying 250 000 USD per month for satelite monitoring. It means that we know EXACTLY which cars goes where. Information are saved over 1 year time.

It means that we can very easely find your car.
Why isnt Barroud sending ARMY / POLICE to smash these dogs ?

2/ Why army is absent in Christian regions - but in MASSE in Koreytem.. knowing that while the Syrian were there... not a single street was not monitored fearing FPM for anti-Syrian activities.

He is exactly how the US/KSA/HARIRI/JUMBLAT like them : WEAK, SILENT and "neutral"... like Sleyman.

Barroud, you are disapointing us.
and to confirm our suspicions and accusations, the 14shbatt members in the forum will be defending him.
AWLKOUN LEISH????????????/

GMA said this after the formation of the 2005 government, when they gave all the christian ministers to the loosers in the christian street parliamentary elections. He wasn't talking about specific personalities, but rather about parties and blocks.

General Abou Jamra, minister Jibran Bassil and Dr. Mario Aoun are some of the brightest FPMers out there among many others as well. So let us not get stuck behind names, and work rather for FPM as a whole.
