Some of what you're stating here is important, others are useless.
- Printing: Ok, this is important, you need to have your ideas and campaign on papers or on banners, I can understand that.
- Organizing events: What kind of events do you need to organize and that would need that much money
- Distribution of gifts: What the hell ? Why should you distribute any gift to the student ? And would a student vote for you if you gave him a gift ?
If so, then you're only feeding the beast that's called corruption in our society
- Calling people: Ok, you need some cards for that, but still not enough to need financing. If every person that would vote for you could make 1 or 2 phone calls, you've got the whole university covered.
With a little bit of organization, you can get the ball rolling.
But the problem is that, when students see the others paying money they start relying on that and forgetting the real stuff here.
