what was wrong with my answer?

thread: UN Soldiers... How far do you wanna take it?

response: till hassan free palestine. logical or not? till hassan hold the weapons, UN will stay here. and as hassan said today:

Retaliation is coming soon," Hizbullah official in south Lebanon Sheikh Ahmad Mrad said in remarks published by the daily Al Akhbar on Friday.

"Retaliation is going to be earth shattering and there will be huge surprises," he vowed.

"Resistance weapons will stay in the hands of Hizbullah until Palestine is liberated," Mrad pledged.

so till he free palestine, UN are staying here!!

funny guy this hassan!! he will destroy its people, and lebanese for the sake of palestine.

Ya habibeteh, since the UNIFUL started to control the south in 2006, the south became the safest region in Lebanon, not a single bullet was shut, not a single mini-war broke up, contrary to the rest of Lebanon where bombs exploded and mini-wars and fight happend...

UNIFIL presence is a garanty to Lebanon safety, no one can deny it.

If Israel if now escalating and threatening Lebanon, i think the wiser thing Hezb could do today is to avoid provoquing Israel and give her the excuse to declare war on Lebanon.

Hezb should help UNIFIL safeguard the borders in order to prevent countries like Syria or Iran or any terrorist groups who wants to put lebanon under the fire of Israel from doing any attacks on Israel borders.

Our economy is just a bit picking up after all what happened these past 2 years and things are getting a bit better, specially that this summer was a full success and we started to feel a bit safer.

So i think the work of FPM and GMA today is to convince Hezb not to get into any adventure and to avoid provoking Israel no matter what even if Israel is looking for it as it is obvious for all of us that Israel wants another war in order to get its revange.

Good Luck

I second this post and I would like to add for the detractors of the UNIFIL that a lot of these people are losing their lives every once and then (demining and a couple of times, bombs were planted near their convoys) for a country that isn't theirs.

So the least we could do is show them some respect.

On the other hand, the economy of South Lebanon is flourishing because of the UNIFIL that is providing jobs for many many people there.
For example, a woman that works as a maid in a lebanese family earns 500$ max, whereas if she worked with the UNIFIL she'd make more than 1200$ per month.

And these soldiers have got to eat, and their only providers are the lebanese merchants.

Not to forget the courses they've been offering for the people of the south without asking for a penny in return.

Stop picturing them as an occupying force because they are all but that!!!

Habboubb, do you know 'magic'? Houdini or David Copperfield would create a diversion for the audience in order to pull a trick up his sleave. Israel is doing the same thing now with all the hot-water Olmert landed himself in. The Israeli government is creating diversion for their (and our) public so that during their news broadcast, the Israeli police's constant visits to Olmert to interrogate him will be the third or fourth news item. Oooo! Olmert is stepping down voluntarily in September (if he's not indicted before), and all this hoopla in Israel by Barak & Co. is to score political points in the hope of becoming the new Kadima leader.

And who's going to prevent Hariri Corp. from stopping the wahhabi salafists terrorists from Saudi Arabia and Egypt from attacking the Lebanese population from within? Remember your bed buddy (El Zarqawi allah la yreddo) who mad he got a couple of weeks before he was scratched accusing Hezbollah from stopping his attacks against Israel? Again, remember who attacked numerous times the UNIFIL in South Lebanon.

Ditto on the economy, however how on earth do you feel safer? Does the Tripoli bombing last week ring a bell?

Again, Israel is working on creating a diversion to cover up its current scandals, and if needs to move from "words" to "action", neither Michel Aoun, Hariri, Gee Dubya, or the Holy Pope is going to stop them.

My friend from the cold untamed north, why are the UNIFIL only on the Lebanese side of the border? If they're "neutral", shouldn't they be on both sides? Are they going to protect Lebanon? How come they haven't once stopped Israel's constant violation of UNSCR 1701 and Lebanon's sovereignty by continuously invading Lebanon's airspace?

The UN is not an occupying force but they are useless. They have not stopped one incursion for Israel on lebanese land because they do not have the political cover.
