this is not about lbc or mannar bickering.

this is serious. just what is red mercury? i noticed the following..

وسط كثرة التحقيقات المتعلّقة بتوقيف عدد من الشبكات الإرهابيّة، قالت المؤسسة اللبنانية للإرسال من مصادر قضائيّة، ان التحقيق مع ما بات يُعرف بشبكة كفرشوبا، لم يكتمل بعد، وأن لا أدلّة قاطعة ضدّ موقوفي الشبكة الثلاثة، وهم من كفرشوبا الجنوب، وقرصونا في المنية، والصْوَيري في البقاع الغربي.
وافادت المحطة أنّ المصادر القضائيّة، إعتبرت ان نتيجة التحاليل التي أُرسلت الى فرنسا للكشف عن انابيب تحوي على مواد سائلة، والتي وُجدت في منزل احد اعضاء الشبكة، لم تصدر حتى الساعة، وان قاضي التحقيق العسكري رشيد مزهر، اوقف أعضاء الشبكة بناء على طلب من النيابة العامّة، ومن اجل مقتضيات التحقيق.

فيما بعد ذكرت الـ"LBC" أن الانابيب التي تحوي مواد سائلة والتي وجدت في منزل أحد اعضاء شبكة كفرشوبا، لم ترسل الى المختبرات الفرنسية وان هناك مفاوضات تجرى مع احد المختبرات اللبنانية لفحص هذه المواد، بعد ان رفض عدد من المختبرات المحليّة الاخرى فحصها.


من جهتها قالت قناة المنار أنّ فحوصات المواد السائلة التي عثر عليها في منزل أحد أفراد الشبكة الإرهابية في منطقة كفرشوبا، هي مواد متفجّرة، وهي من النوع الخطر، وتصل كلفة الانبوب الواحد الى مليون دولار، وتمّ إرسال عيّنات منها الى احد المختبرات الفرنسيّة.

وعلمت المنار من مصادر مطّلعة ان المادة هي الزئبق الأحمر، وتمّ الحصول عليها من اكثر من مصدر داخل لبنان وخارجه. علمًا ان أحد اعضاء الشبكة زعم في الساعات الاولى للتحقيق، أن العثور تمّ على هذه الانابيب في احد شواطىء منطقة الشمال.

وقد طلب الفرنسيون وبعض دول الإتحاد الاوروبي الإطلاع على التحقيقات الجارية مع عناصر شبكة كفرشوبا، كذلك طلبت قيادة اليونيفيل وضعها في اجواء التحقيقات، وعمدت الى اتخاذ إجراءات وقائيّة تحسّبًا لتعرّضها لهجمات جديدة

if this material is true and if indeed terrorists have in here then this is the worst news i heard in decades.

no wonder why some labs here might not want to test a debatable explosive.

this is new to me. does anyone know more about this?

i think its implications are wide and far reaching if confirmed, although as we can see from reading the articles confirming it is a problem also.

I As a lebanese I would like to Ask questions.
First how can these terrorist gain "مادة الزئبق الاحمر " ?
Second From where did they get that much money? "As you know one bottle costs 1 million dollars.

Thirdly who is behind these groups?

The usual (and most logical) suspect is Al Qaeda (only they can afford such expensive explosions in case we don't consider involvement of political parties or leaders or even foreign countries or intelligence agencies)

Now, how can Al Qaeda put its hands on something like this? Money can buy anything.

well these so called islamists terrorists groups what do they do? If you think about it they rape women, sell herion, steal and do anything thats not islamic.... many ways how a terrorist group gets money...

Another option is Russian black market ? But still , CIA have control on each and every bullet sold ..
