The drawing makes the caricature "less" real and includes an implicit message that this is the perception of the cartoonist.

Articles based on opinions and analysis of some political issue are tolerated if they include some sort of humoristic approach, it actually makes them more appealing.
However, what we're talking about here is a daily report that is supposed to bring us daily news, ideally in an objective fashion. While one can tolerate some subjectivity hidden between the lines, a "pictured" subjectivity is a shot below the belt in journalism.
