The thread points at Arabiya Tawhid, Arslan and SSNP weapons. Well, Wizam Wahabb can´t gather just a couple of followers and should be not a security problem, Arslan LDP´s weapons would not be directed at nobody because PSP has 1000% more weapons. SSNP has always been armed but has a particular party logic and is not enough powerful to suposse a danger if not to anyone who had attacked them before and who can be target in a "party revenge". From my point of view, in the Opposition camp the problem would be with Amal´s weapons. It´s not sure that in the future they could not use them for sectarian objetives as they have made in the past, nobody knows for how long HA can control them or even if Amal and HA will clash as they have done. And nobody knows, in the current situation, who have the legitime power to disarm anybody. And when sectarian fears rise it´s more difficult to do so.

Anyone can hide RPG or B7 in his house, so lets pretend FPM has weapons (just an example) and FPM decided to surrender it's weapons, i will take home RPGs and B7s and Ak47s and M16s and hide them home, nobody can do anything about that.

The army can not search house by house for weapons.

Unfortunately, there is no solution....
There is a solution, offer financial incentives to everyone willing to come forward and give up their personal arms.

1000$ will make wonder in the current economic situation

and who can pay that except Hariri who's not willing to give his weapons in the first place, ba3den an M4 is going for 2500 on the weapons market an AK47 for 1300, i am sure now the prices are more expensive since Hezb won't be selling as much as they used to before the last events.

but a guy from Akkar that cannot afford to feed his family would welcome the idea of a 1000$ for something that was given to him for free in the first place!

Are you saying that the people carrying weapons actually bought them from their own personal funds?

99% of the weapons you have seen on the streets in the past week have been handed over by militias.

They might spare some money to buy arms and hand it back again for 1000$. Am sure some will make a good money out of it.

you can expect anything from the Lebanese

At least, this would help in gathering some of the light weapons.
