To be honest, my opinion as a lawyer is that the Taef Agreement was itself not "legal" and for many reasons - anyway, there were legal studies made on this subject.

So, you can imagine how legal it is for MP Hussein El Husseini to keep the Taef minutes and notes and not to disclose them. It is part of our "folklore" I guess.

What's this talk about legality? We're in Lebanon! It's not what has been done, but who does it!

If an MP makes these documents public, he can't be prosecuted (MP immunity) unless Parliament removes his immunity!

Who dares remove immunity of an MP, knowing that next year, the roles might be reversed!

None of the MPs who were there ever asked to bring those sessions to public, anyway all of them were part of this "lebanese" (LOL LOL LOL copyright taifoon) agreement... but one MP had at that time the cojones to leave.
Since FPM is still in good relations with this commendable MP, why not have him lead a media push to get these documents? MP Daccache should educate the public about this irregularity and turn the heat on Husseini.

Do you think they mentioned in those minutes how much all the honorable MPs pocketed back then. The word was a million each, but wouldn't it be cute to see it written ink on paper?

Actually they were 2 to leave, Daccache and alla yerhamo Joseph Skaff, who remained in Paris after it unable to come to Lebanon until he was brought in a coffin.

Is Transparency that much of a taboo these days? No hidden agenda my dear.

I, you, and all of us can do with a little learning of what happened during a very important milestone for our country.

One person is illegally retaining all this info....maybe innocently to sell a million books when he publishes the notes...but maybe also maliciously to extend the political future of a few attendees.

Now that MP Husseini has resigned from the parliament and with no more parliamentarian immunity, will we see the Taef meeting minutes made public?
