Default Taef Meeting minutes - 24th July 2008

This may sound like its out of the blue, but does anybody know why MP Hussein el Husseini still keeps the Taef Meeting minutes and notes? Why isn't this info public yet? how legal is it for him to keep it?

The distribution of these meeting minutes will clarify so many uncertainties and secrets. So, who is MP Husseini protecting?

i am not sure how legal it is to open those documents, i think some laws prohibits them from being made public until a certain amount of time, like maybe 25 years.

I know that is the case in France, so its probably the same in lebanon.

Can you please link us to a text or share with us what kind of documents are subject to such laws?

Thanks,

I have no idea.

I am only supposing that Taef agreement was made by the MP's so it must follow the Parlement rules. The discussions in parlement are closed ones unless its an open session.

Rafic Hariri, the Saudi King and some ministers attended those meetings, so i really don't think that they were "closed" meetings.

Assuming that this is true, MP Husseini is maintaining these records in his house, not in the parliamentary institution....which makes it illegal. Hiding these documents is very fishy.

Is there no law or political will to get this info? I know that Berri was trying to get them for yrs.

Taef is a major turning point in Lebanon's history and future, so understanding the background behind the significant changes to our constitution will shed some light...and maybe.....uncover the real motive for many of the current political players.

Uncovering those documents can at least give answers to many unanswered questions we still have since 1990.

By what price was Lebanon handed over to Syria on a silver plate, and especially how Georges Saade, Boutros Harb and their other taef allies (mainly LF) were intending to get in Taef and blow it up from the inside.

In a parliamentary democracy like ours (hehehe and LOL LOL LOL), there's no such thing as closed sessions. A parliament is the peoples house meant for all laundry to be hanged out and for the public to see it, hear it and smell it. Taif protocols must be exceptionally dirty to be made public, even for a hardened population such as ours. It is for protecting the stinking behinds of many still living lebanese thieves and idiots and their saudi hosts those protocols will not see the light under this century.

General Aoun and FPM asked several times t bring those minutes to public ,,, but as usual nothing happened , they are still closed sessions! The questions is why ?
None of the MPs who were there ever asked to bring those sessions to public, anyway all of them were part of this "lebanese" (LOL LOL LOL copyright taifoon) agreement... but one MP had at that time the cojones to leave.

I remember once hearing MP Hussein el Husseini saying something like, that establishing those minutes was not a legally mandatory technicallity, and that they have technically no official status, from a legal point of view, and that the decision to take them was made by his own initiative and that they are his own property, and that he would reserve himself the right to release them or not.
