Unfortunatly, this is not a country where opposition can really accomplish much.

This is a country where opposition is to be blamed for the failure of the government as you all heard in the last few years.

People don't care much about the failure of the government.

They will believe anything justifying the 75 billions debt in few years.

They will believe anything justifying not giving the president some of its lost powers.

They will believe anything justifying why this ministry is working better than the other even though the numbers show you a different reality.

It is a tough situation the FPM is in now.
They should not be part of a corrupted and doomed to fail government and yet can not feel offended and ignore its own people.

Those people deserve attention and they won't tolerate negligence from the ruling government just "for your eyes only" .

I think FPM should be part of the government and try to make the best out of it.
I think change does not come all at once .It comes slowly; one ministry at a time.
I think reform does not come all at once: one policy at a time.

FPM can be part of the government and still expose the bad governing.

1-participate in the goverment and give the president the blocking third
10-5-15 is a good idea . it will place him directly on the side of the ooposition
2- focus on the casa FPM won and bring in new projects / financing / initiatives/jobs etc... why not some few khadamet ??? we live in lebanon!!
3-structure of the party / internal elections
4-work on the best figures and give them prime role - abi ramia / kanaan / walid khoury / farid khazen etc...It's a big mistake to bring back bassil or abou jamra as ministers
5-reduce the orange (on all levels ) as much as possible from OTV to attract neutrals - please copy from MTV (they brought in new very attractive young dynamic people - only dima sadek can make it into this category the other bya3mlo stress (especially shirley) - naming the station OTV is a huge mistake anyway .

In any 1st class country the answer would be "oppose from the outside". As for Lebanon I really don't know if this works. Anyhow, I tend to prefer opposing from the outside than participating in governing the country with thugs.

If we participate without the 1/3, noone could blame anything on us, since we won't be able to block anything.

We will be watching them destroying the country, while we will be doing good in our ministries

and what? watch the country burn 7ata tdal "moushref" or "shareef" or what ever the word is? or just to highlight and broadcast their failures? Dude the leaders regardless of political affiliation wont fail its we the people who will fail. you cant stand idle by and watch the country burn just to say "we told you so".

thank you for this thread however it comes it little premature. this should be discussed in a few weeks when tempers of the forum members cool down as most are still a little high on emotion.

whether they fail or even if their failures increase these elections give you a clear indication that they will be re-elected in 2013. there is no such thing as accountability in Lebanon, they will not be held accountable for their actions.

i say join the government and make life a little easier for those who voted for us and those lost souls who voted against us.

We can not stand by and say let the dead bury the dead.

The FPM should create a shadow government and have one spokesperson for each one of the ministries. And I would like to see more of the young FPM generation in this shadow government. I do not want to discover a Sehnaoui the last minute before the elections but he should be heard and seen during those coming 4 years. This a major opportunity to push forward the young generation and bring the boys and girls who lost or won or did not make to the list this year but that we all now are a great assets for the future.

I accept the C&R-block inside the government only on one condition: that the all participant in the new government accept a reform program that they all agree upon, otherwise better to stay out.

This is the democracy...isn't it?

I think it is not wise to participate in the government, let them deal with their own sh*t. However, there are many other things that should be done. I will talk about them after tomorrow.

Exactly the right thing to say. Bas ma t3allamo till now they are asking for the 1/3. Let them keep the same mistakes, maybe next elections we will lose Keserwan and Jbeil kamen.
