Default Should FPM and allies bring people from outside Lebanon to vote? - 22nd November 2008

Fact 1 : FPM and allies must win at least 35 seats in Koura, Batroun, Bcharreh, Zgharta, Jbeil, Keserwan, Maten, Baabda, Zahleh, Jezzine, Beirut 1 and 2 to guarantee a majority for the opposition in the next parliament.

Fact 2 : The battle is very close in several districts such as Koura, Batroun, Matn, Zahleh and Beirut 1.

Fact 3 : Loyalists have brought 2000-2500 engineers from outside in the engineers syndicate election in 2008 and they were able to with 1000 votes difference.

So without the slightest doubt, loyalists will bring a HUGE number of people from abroad to vote in the 2009 elections and they will pay all their travel costs.
Since the number of seats that FPM need to win is high and since the battle is close in several places, these voters brought from outside can easily tip the balance to their favor if the opposition doesn't do something in return !

So do you think that Fpm and the opposition should do the same and prepare the needed budget to bring their supporters from outside Lebanon to vote?

Without hesitations, I say yes although I don't like the idea much but it is our only chance to guarantee the win. When the laws don't protect our rights, we are obliged to defend them in our own way. I am not saying we should buy votes but we should help our supporters who dont have the financial means to come and vote!

What is the alternative if we don't do it and we decide to stay angels?
1- Loyalists win in 2009.
2- No right for the Lebanese abroad to vote and no limit for the elections budget.
3- Repeat the same thing in 2013.
4- Loyalists win in 2013.

and the cycle continues!!

How is the opposition planning to face this situation?

We should definitely be bringing people from abroad.
otherwise we'll loose the elections.

Yes they should because if they don't there is a big chance of losing(especially after the current and unclear steps taken by GMA like visit to Syria and mookawama sha3beeya stuff!)...

Thousands of FPMers and FPM supporters live abroad , Hariri team will be doing that and we cannot say ya 3ayb el shoom 3layon, nothing illegal in that!!!

u pay u win.....These are the rules of the game.

It's funny how a lot of people are saying that we should bring people, when all of them have been criticizing Hariri for doing the same thing

It's a transition from being utopians to becoming realists.
