The problem of the lebanese army is not its training. We have at least the special forces - maghaweer, navy seals, some brigades...- who can perform very well and are considered among the best soldiers in the middle-east.
Navy seals are probably the deadliest soldiers in the middle-east given their training (US and British courses notably). The Israeli Flotilla 13 experienced it in 1997 and was crushed.
We face two problems :
1°/ lack of equipment to face israeli air-strikes ;
2°/ political role given to the army.
I wouldn't fear a guerilla warfare as the lebanese soldiers would do as fine, even perhaps better than HA. I would rather fear our inability to protect the soldiers from the air strikes.
However, the intervention of the Lebanese Army depends on the nature of the next israeli agression. If they decide to invade the country, the Lebanese army will fight. But if they launch the same campaign as 2006, the Lebanese army can not do anything except firing some bullets in the air...
