Second, SHN explained that the May 7 events happened as a reaction to what was being prepared, something much bigger. Now if you do not want to understand this either, don't, live in fear of HA, live in constant hatred for the other, and live happily.
Regarding the "the international community can accuse.... but if Lebanese dare we start a civil war", sorry did not get where he said that or implied it, but hey, my analysis skills do not come close to yours so I won't even try to understand.
Finally, he did not mix anything. A speech can't be more organized and more moutassalssel than this. But again your pre-conceived opinion keeps you from actually understanding anything at all.
Why do you even bother listening to him anyways, since whatever he would say, you will interpret it 3ala zaw'ak and attack him no matter what? Instead, go hide underneath your bed, this is the best you can do, stay scared of the other in your country, remain hateful, keep your mistrust and this is how you will build the country (from underneath your bed). | I can't have a better answer. thanks Youchka | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to yaraman For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

Everything else is his typical blah blah blah
Mixing his religion with domestic politics with geopolitics, with emphasising the threat of Israel, with emphasising Hizbullahs military might etc.
I must say, he is a great leader of his mini islamic republic, but his irony and inimidation is very hard to swollow by those who just wanna live in peace. | I must say, there's another quaintly divisive little post!
Your comments immediately take me back to the joint interview between GMA and SHN on OTV in early 2008. Just observing the manner of both men in that setting, it was clear that there is admiration and mutual respect between the two leaders. GMA is now 74 years old, whereas SHN is a mere 48, so there is an entire generational gap between them, and what the interview revealed in terms of their relationship reflects that generational gap. GMA regards SHN as a father would regard a son whose position is that of Nasrallah's position: with pride and admiration. You could see it in GMA's eyes when he was talking and looking at Nasrallah. And SHN regards GMA as a paternal figure of sorts, whom he contends with as his equal in the practical sense since both men are leaders of popular political parties, but whom he also respects and admires not just as his elder, but as a true statesman "bi7ajm dawlah" of historic caliber. Being a gifted orator, you can hear it in the quiver in his voice when he talks about GMA, whether it is in the setting of a calm interview or a sermon to a crowd.
Ok, I just read what I wrote and it sounds emotional, but it wasn't meant to be. Just a reflective rant on how I understand the relationship between the two men.... | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Learned For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

The article posted by elaph about Hariri is very significant. read it well and you will understand why Hariri is so scared to lose election. The one who wrote the article is the manager of elaph and one of the closest to the ruling family. | He definitely felt the backlash from his "May 7 yawm majid" speech and had to come up with something more elections friendly. A week before a speech for Nasrallah, we should open a thread for loyalists to post what they would consider a realistically good speech.
I think this is the first time since the MoU, Nasrallah is actually pushing in the right direction. Good opening of channels with Jumblat and Hariri. More of this and less chop-chop is a good way forward. | | | | | | |
