Since Aoun prefers the company of Nasrallah to the company of Feltman, we clearly know what Aoun stands for.

Yes, he stands for truth, and he stands for Lebanon... and we salute him for what he will do in Lebanon in the future...

Nasrallah is deep in the Syrian/Iranian pocket as the meeting shows.
Aoun is part of the HA led opposition. This tells us where Aoun stands better than a thousand words. Aoun is where his ideology tells him to be, together with Nasrallah.

You must admit, that he is closer to Nasrallah than to Saniora from an ideological point of view. This says a lot.

You are close politically to somebody because your ideologies are similar. Otherwise, you are just an opportunist and presumably Aoun is not an opportunist. Therefore, he is close to Nasrallah ideologically more than to Saniora.

one last thought, you shouldn't be that proud because someone is giving a "lebanese??" party weapons, we all know what are weapons used for. so the main purpose was to fight, kill and being killed. what a noble act from Iran!!!!
have yoy seen HA ever used there weapons against Lebanese sice 15 years?!!!
on the other hand, we saw what some people from "14 azar" have done....

According to this logic, Israel (your country) is close ideologically to Iran. Israel did provide Iran with weapons during the Iran-contra (love-)affair. Do you remember that? You don't have a selective memory, do you?

Wait a second... the US told Israel to give weapons to Iran at the time. So now the US is ideologically close to Iran who is ideologically close to Israel, and by extension Israel is ideologically close Hizballah which is ideologically close to Iran and Aoun.

The Moral of the story? Israel is ideologically close to Aoun. Aoun is a Zionist trying to bring the USA and France (forget Britain, it doesn't count anymore) closer to the Zionist camp.

Where do the contras fit in all of this though? I am stomped.

You fail to see the difference between two political parties in the same country working together on a shared ideological platform and two countries trading. You can trade with people you don't ideologically agree with.

But FPM and HA want to replace the current government with their own government. They want to rule Lebanon together because they have a shared ideology. When two political parties form a coalition, it is because they agree on a wide number of issues and want together to implement them. That is the case of FPM and HA. They share a vision and an ideology and therefore are working together to come into power and replace the current government.

28 posts have been deleted in less than 28 minutes. This thread is called "SHN meeting Ahmadi Najad in Damascus" because it deals with "SHN meeting Ahmadi Najad in Damascus". It is not about democrats and republicans, the Iran-Contra affair, Seymour Hersch, the future movement, the MoU, the credibility of CNN and NY times, or whether Forward_vision is a male or a female.

All further offtopic posts will be deleted and their authors warned.
