Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir has warned against "internal and external" interference in the upcoming Lebanese parliamentary elections, saying the "Syrians still interfere whenever they want in Lebanese internal affairs via their friends."
"Among our neighbors are those who have goals and interests in this country and they are making every effort to meddle in elections-related issues," Sfeir told MTV network.
"They believe that victory is theirs if they or their allies win the elections," he said. "I'm afraid that this issue concerns one party in Lebanon."
"We are with a centrist (parliamentary) bloc" which tips the balance between right and left, Sfeir reiterated.

Sfeir as head of the Maronite Church, and Patriach of the East, one would think that your main concern was to reply to Jumblatt aggressively considered he attacked your sect and followers.
But you worked the other way around and you fill your daily speeches with politics. |
nothing new here
as obscene and clear as it is, sfeir's sick mental state is nothing that will cause him to resign, nor change his ways, nor even force maronites to demand his resignation.
there is this path of fate that ppl don't like averting.
if u are doomed to go to hell, u keep at it til the last minute, kif laken if u are a patriarch who sold his soul to the devil.
it has something to do with finishing what u started.
all this annoying sfeir mantra will not go away, not now, not tomorrow.
the church cares little about what this does to the christian society, and christians themselves care less even.
sfeir will be sfeir.
he will spit his poison blindly.
but it is situations like these that makes u appreciate the curse of mortality that the gods blessed upon us.
sfeir might be a hopeless case, but thank the gods humans have a natural expiry date.
let's see then how many will remember fondly this regal person..
