Default The sectarian Hariri strategy! - 13th September 2009

Elections of 2009 have revealed a strong sectarian backing for Hariri..... the whole electoral battle was built on scaring the population from the Shiite ogre. the whole electoral battle was a revenge to what happened to the "sunnis" on may 7th 2008...

GMA raises the question about the constitutional responsibilities and powers of the PM and the fact that many institutions are wrongly controlled by the PM and the issue is changed by hariri and his allies into an attack on the whole sunni sect...

the opposition asks for its share in the next government and hariri makes it sounds as if the sunni sect is being destroyed...

Jamil Sayyed attacks hariri on TV and of course, Sayyed is posted as the new anti-Christ person who is determined on wiping the Earth from the last sunni...

the problem here is that Hariri's cronies are changing any anti-hariri ideas into a sectarian issue which dire consequences.. this can lead to a harsh civil/religious war...

how far can they go?

Harriri is not the biggest scare in this matter, it is the rallying of many Sunni figures behind him including those who were opposed to him politically and/or supposed to be moderate. And those who may be expected to say something about it are to say the least keeping silent.

I totally agree! Hariri hasn't particularly acted sectarian in the last 2 months... He love all sects: the Sunni ministries, the Maronite ministries, the Shiite ministries, the Catholic ministries...

But I was impressed by the sectarianism of his Sunni allies, opponents and religious leaders! FMers, Miqati, Jouzou, Hoss, Karame, etc., they all rallied around Hariri, defended Taef, attacked Aoun and the Maronites, simply because they are Sunnis!

Ya3neh seriously if Christians and Sfeir were like that.... no I can't even imagine it!

ppl decide their fate

if 90% of the sunnis decide that is their fate then so be it

but hariri will never have 100%, not that he needs more than 90% anyhows

I personally think that they can't do much more than what they are doing right now. (i.e. just barking). the thing is they believe that being surrounded with hundreds of millions of sunnis is an advantage, but those sunnis need someone to help them due to all kinds of oppression. if they had the chance to help Lebanese Harisists, I think they would prefer to help palestinians as they are the ones facing real danger.

they tried to fight the "shias," they lost big time. the only thing left they can do is to bark, bark, bark, and bark. nothing more.

but, ironically, this barking ruined the reputation of sunnis amongst other lebanese. including those who oppose Hariri's policies.Nevertheless, Lebanese sunnis are still one of the most moderate sunnis in the middle east.

This Hariri junior and his slaves have ruined the sunnis and made them more dependent on Hariri's sardine cans 3an roo7 al shahid. pretty sad.

I'd hate to sound sectarian, but what they've been doing for the past few years is forging the primitive Sunni mind against that scary Shiaa wolf who's about to engulf Israel, oops I mean Sunnis. Not that this is not expected from that same primitive mind that reveres the drunkards in KSA and considers Bin Laden and Saddam heroes. It's sad to see that the same people who criticized or rather hated the Wahhabi hypocrites are now so madly in love with them.

What our dear brothers yet have to 'see' is that Saad is but a little Saudi bar boy who was plucked out of pubs and forced to cut his shiny locks before he was given control over a nation that created the greatest of men; and that Jouzou and his troops are Zionist puppets whose jobs are to stir, incite hate, and divide us for Israel to flourish. وَالْفِتْنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الْقَتْلِ

They didn't deprive Sunni areas like Tripoli and Akkar all those years for no reason. Yet again you expect people to have some dignity and self-esteem. What good did Hariri do to Sunnis when he was the Syrian appointed PM in Lebanon? Mother KSA could take them out of need with one wave of a wand, but it doesn't want to because they gotta be in need to be bought.

It's worth observing the nomenclature of new mushrooming pro-Hariri parties, such as "tayyar el shi3i el 7orr" and "tayyar el armani el 7orr" .

Not-so-sectarian strategy .
