Hezbollah used the same argument to organize to defend and arm itself. Today it continues to use the same argument to justify keeping its arms regardless of any changes in the nature of the threat. The scale is different but the analogy holds. By the way this reaction isn't that uncommon. In many dangerous neighborhoods around the world, where police has neglected to adequately protect communities that are being harassed and wronged constantly, civilians sometimes organize in watch squads to help themselves. This is not what the country needs though, and Sami shouldn't encourage it even-though you should admit he did choose his words carefully to describe a situation and not call for anything. The country needs a policy of disarmament of all that inherently promotes better control of the state apparatus of the situation on the ground.

Sami and the defense minister are friends, in fact, the Daddy of the defense minister was running on the Quatorze list in Maten and he got elected and is now part of the majority, let Sami and the rest of za2ife ask the defense minister to give orders to the army.

that's why we should all say the Only Solution is The Lebanese Army!
and work for it!

and if Hezbollah doesn't agree to this only solution then we wont have a country.
Hezbollah would be giving the 'right' to others to get armed! and have their own state and rules!

I'm not a fan of Sami.. but it's like either you live with Hezbollah being armed because we all do know that Hezbollah wont and would never hand over its arms or everybody do same as Hezbollah getting their community armed! and start killing each others!

you have two choices today and both of them are bad!
1. trust Hezbollah and forget about their Arms and their own state, army etc <<< would never happen
2. every community gets Armed and protect it self <<< more possible that it will happen

unfortanely the 3rd choice which is build a country doesn't exist!
and in Lebanon most people they will choose number two!

I had the opportunity to meet Sami about a couple if weeks ago by pure cooincidence. I have to say, I was mistaken about him. I thought he was heavily inexperienced, turns out he is not only that but also not the sharpest tool in the shed. Charismatic yes, smart definitely not more than your average joe.

But if you want to play politics, let your Daddy teach you a thing or two, let him teach you that if you want the army to protect Ain el Remeneh, you should call your ally Elias el Murr and ask him to give orders to the army.

Ma tez3al menne ya Sami, i am saying this for your own sake, ok 3ammo?
Actually he makes a great point! Either the army protects its citizens or if they stay in their barracks like they did in the 70s then people have to defend their areas against thugs. What's wrong with what he said!?!

Dry Ice my dear, don't ever glimpse with the Hakim around, Sami is a nice boy playing politics, but when it comes to playing with fire, the Hakim will put Sami back to the nursery.

If Sami doesn't comply, the Hakim will do Sami a dedeh.

If Sami still doesn't comply, the Hakim will WWF Sami.

If Sami still doesn't comply, the Hakim will Blow up Sami.

Its not like some fresh dude from the new generation will pop up out of nowhere and start being good looking and liked; it doesn't work like that in Lebanon.

in sami's case i think that chance has the biggest role , cause if the late pierre were here , sami would have been playing playstation with his spoiled friends in loubnanouna.

and a good leader must have charisma , sami with his childish voice and tone (something that he has to work on) can NEVER give the right charisma to the people , afterall carlos eddeh is a "leader" and we all now what kind of leaders he is.

i'm really not underestimating the guy, but till now he's not showing the lebanese a real face of a politician , he's satisfied with bashing GMA and trying always to play on the "tana2oudat".

Other than go back to a senseless cycle of violence for 15 years, with catastrophic loss of life and property, there is nothing wrong with what the village idiot said. More power to him.

And my neighbors ask me, why won't you return to Lebanon?

Tfeh.
