Zghertewe my dear,

this whole thread is complaining about the adopted 1960 law which is the case now with most fpmrs all complaining about the law (including me for ex. i didnt like the law) but it was Aoun after the doha agreement who was so happy to bring Christians rights back..and you saw the billboards all over Lebanon...and at that time we felt like aoun was the only person in Doha or that he forced the others to this law and he won the battle...
but now we see complaints!! law is not fair etc...
as for the areas you mentioned they are christian areas for sure but they were since before the Doha agreement with fpm (the christian rights protectros) except jezzine maybe so in these areas no rights could be claimed to be returned..

The electoral law was a mistake. I say bring back the Ghazi Kanaan law with a twist. The twist is allowing each individual elect a single representative from his/her presepective sect.

That is the fairest electoral law with true representation in a sectarian country such as lebanon.

A friend of mine who works for a statistics company made a small study today about the biggest parties in lebanon and i got the following results from him:

1- Hizbollah with 284 000 votes. ( chi3a only)--103k in bekaa,21k in mount lebanon, 3k in the north, 17 k in beirut,140k in the south
2-FM with 247 000 votes ( sunni only) 97k in the north,22k in the south, 21k in mount lebanon,46k in bekaa,60 k in beirut
3-FPM with 216 000 votes ( christians only) 37k in the north, 21k in bekaa,19k in the south,14k in beirut, 135k in mount lebanon
4-Amal with 121 000 votes (chi3a only)22k in bekaa,7k in mmount lebanon, 1k in north, 11k in beirut, 80k in the south
5-LF with 83 000 votes ( christians only) 11k in bekaa, 4k in the south,33k in the north,7k in beirut, 28k in mount lebanon

P.S: margin of error:3%.
p.S2: there was a difficulty in making Hizbollah/amal ratio, however based on many criterias, the ratio overall was 1:2.11

FPm 3rd biggest party in lebanon :)

Sorry could not read everyone reply and input on this topic. I do think that one of the major setback for opposition is their shortsightedness in joining and playing the majority game. That is indulging in bringing voters rather than focus on awareness and propaganda, which failed considerably. also, miscalculating the majority financial and marketing resources among the Lebanese population let alone the diaspora was a main factor. absence of vocality about demographic changes in different districts hoping that could be overcome! zhale election sould've been boycotted, period especially when you know what was happening. it would have been different stroy now. hopefully next time around things will improve for the opposition across Lebanon!
