Le Premier ministre sortant a par ailleurs annoncé qu'il a rencontré l'émir du Koweït, le roi de Bahreïn, et le président Bachar el-Assad. Interrogé sur cette dernière rencontre, M. Siniora a affirmé que ça n'a pas été une rencontre isolée ni fortuite, et qu'elle a eu lieu en présence des autres chefs d'états. Sur ce, il a ajouté qu'il a échangé des propos (avec el-Assad), "l'occasion fut une occasion de rencontre entre tous les chefs d'état", a ajouté M. Siniora.
