First i believe that such a talk is dangerous, because we are not a popular democracy and we haven't had a census since 1932. additionally, the number of christians have fallen under 40%. so if FPM wants a popular vote that means the christians will choose even a lesser number of their MPs.
However an more accurate popular vote is that of the districts with a Christians majority which are: Jezzine, Baabda, Metn, Kesserouan, Jbeil, koura, Batroun, Zghorta, Bchareeh, Zahleh and beirut 1.
so i added the top candidate and lower candidate of march 14 and march 8 here are my results:
top candidates:
march 14: 286443
march 8: 273040
lowest candidate:
march 14: 263347
march 8: 254592
in both cases march 14 won
i took the numbers off the official results from
Elections 09 -
i would be more than happy to send the excel sheet i did to anyone who asks for it. just send me a private message. ( the sheet includes a district by district breakdown and additions of the numbers, all over lebanon and in the Christians areas.)
