Default Professor Geagea: There was no issues with Syria and there was no Lebanese detainees in Syria before 1993 - 30th January 2009

Quote:
أكد رئيس الهيئة التنفيذية في "القوات اللبنانية" سمير جعجع أنه سيزور سوريا بعد عودة المعتقلين وحل جميع القضايا العالقة معها.
Apparently, in 1993 when Geagea visited Syria, Lebanon didn't have any issues with Syria (like Syria was not occupying Lebanon) and we didn't have any detainees in Syria.

It was a visit of respect.

Ya3ne from a respectful person to another in times of great sorrow.

Dr. Geagea visited Syria in order to test the waters and check the possibility of negotiating a deal for the release of prisoners... for his efforts, the man paid several years in prison a few months later.

He cannot because technically Israel and Lebanon are at war, which wasn't the case between Syria and Lebanon..

the visit itself is actually not very significant. geagea's act of complete submission was proven when the LF became part of a government under the syrian occupation, despite the fact that people were still being allegedly kidnapped by syrian intelligence prior to that period and during it.

but virtue wasn't very convenient for geagea at the time. his notion of virtue always comes annexed with a benefits tag and a very handy ON/OFF switch; which allows him to overlook huge church bells hanging as war trophies in mukhtara, and place a tiny picture on a rosary that could have been done by anyone under the microsope.
