What I wanted to say is that FPM can counter attack by asking the president to have candidates from all over the country including Akkar, Tripoly, and Beirut 3. Also it is too early to panic.

It is Michel Sleiman's hand:

If he goes for option one, he is being truly neutral.

If he goes for option 2, he will be the ideal president that the Christian need right now.

If he goes for option 3, he is either really stupid, no different than Geagea or this has always been his mission from day 1 and is hired for that role. THen one must wonder where is Syria from all that is happening to try and understand the bigger picture, since in that case Sleiman is simply someone's puppet or common toy.
You are missing a very important point: What did Sleiman commit himself to Hariri in order to become president????
When you answer this question, you realise that the only "OPTION" is that he fulfills his obligations

once a president he has no right to allie with anyone against the other , read well my reply and read to what sentence i was replying . "the right of the president to ally with whom he wants to build his parlementary block " . either he is a PRESIDENT OF ALL AND FOR ALL wa illa yrouh ala bayto !

dont play it smart with me .

That's easy. You can make them appear:
Mikati, Issam Fares, Pierre Daccache, Salim El Hoss etc...

Hariri alone cannot elect a president. he needs FPM,Hezbollah,Amal and
the rest why did you vote for him?

The easiest way to abort this request is to insist on the president to have a candidate in Chouf
==> Edwan + Khoury + Cham3oun + President Candidate = Jumblat

Thank you Sanfour. Sleiman is the result of a US, Saudi, Syrian, Iranian, Lebanese deal (the Lebanese being the weakest factor in this equation). Let us not loose sight of the recent talk by the Saudi King about Saudi and Syria will become good friends again and very soon.

So, whatever Sleiman does, is most likely blessed by Aoun's allies, otherwise Sleiman is creating himself major enemies and will definitely fail since in such a face off, him and Aoun will be the only losers.

My feeling is there is a level of unjustified panic in this thread since a Slaiman vs Aoun in the coming election would mean a serious dismemberment of the opposition, and even if Sleiman is in agreement with HA/Amal, him facing Aoun will only serve to defeat both for the benefit of Harriri. HA/Amal and Harriri may be trying to get along right now, but there is no way HA/Amal will put Harriri in a winning position again, not after what happened after the 2005 electoral alliance from stabbing HA in the back.

I have faith in President Sleiman.

I think both lists (Feb 14 and FPM/HA) will compete against each other all over Lebanon, and each list will have a candidate that will later be ma7soub on the president, without having to form a third list.

for ex., In jbeil, FPM will win, and prob walid khoury will be ma7soub 3al ra2iss.
In KEserwen, FPM will win, and prob Frem candidate will be ma7soub 3al ra2iss.

Ya3ne the president wont engage in a battle, yet the lists ON BOTH SIDES will have candidates of his... shi heik...
