Joumana, I take it that you were a contractor for the MoI! if so, don't you usually sign a contract that details the conditions of the employment, i.e. working hours, paying period and frequency, etc. I am trying to see if such official documents are there why the court did not give you favorite judgement?[I know most of them are under political influence but few are left with some dignity]. Can you please elaborate. many thanks and good luck! |
Thanks a lot, dear sarhay, for your support.
As for your question, well,
I never got a document confirming that I am employed, which really made me go mad after one month. Actually when I began, Laure sleiman promised every week that "next week" I will get a contract. Then end of March I began understanding few things, for example, that
the whole staff never received a cent since they began and that they do not have a contract either.
So I rushed to Laure Sleiman and confronted her and asked her what kind of ******** is going on, because she was promising me every week that "next week" I will get my contract and now I found out that I will not even get my salary!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Mind you that I would have made loads of money by helping students write their masters instead of working there, but all time I thought: Oh well, it is a governmental job, a good job opportunity even if underpaid it has the advantage that I will get a rent, some day will get a better position, etc. - I was a fool!)
So I asked for an immediate meeting with the minister, but then it was scheduled for all of us on the 14 of April at 11:00 am. Laure sleiman highly requested and insisted for my attendance and said: "Ente l wa7ide l msa2afe bayneton, lezem teje". I had asked them to make me a personal appointment with the minister but then I confirmed the meeting and waited till April 14 and as usual with the promise that the Minister will clarify everything. Actually Laure Sleiman made me think that the Minister had already resolved the issue!
Meeting with Tarek Mitri, the **** minister I ever met in my life. Not that some others were not dumb, but he was by far the **** I met!!!
I was given the seat directly between Laure Sleiman and Tarek mitri. I had had some dinners with this Mr. Mitri and noticed how superficial he is, but that meeting was the peak. During dinners, Mitri used to swank and show off about his meeting with Queen Elizabeth and talked so much ******** about luxury while I was thinking that there are thousands dying from hunger in Lebanon. Anyway back to
Mitri (excuse my French, but unavoidable) so I went to the meeting, sat there and listened to what he had to say and was shocked that he had never asked for a budget to pay us a salary, because he said he
was AFRAID that the others will oppose him!!!!!!! Go figure! I asked which others, I would talk to them and he refused to tell me names. so I proposed him a persuasive plan, and hoppla,
your great minister, took out the pen from his inner jacket pocket and began writing down what I told him to say in order to persuade the others to pay us! So all I can say, ** ******* to such a minister, who is not even a man. Same goes to Andre Kassas who looked fascinated by my planning and asked me how to get funding for the ministry and
the 3 mousquetaires asked me to do make them a plan for the ministry incl. getting grants, restructuring etc. They immediately afterwards handed me internal statistics and documents in order to proceed.
End of discussion was that Mitri had pledged and vowed to fulfill the promise of persuading the "others" and getting us our salaries from the government by end of April.
End of April came and again I found out from ministers in the government that Mitri never asked about our budget. I got really really mad. Un uomo **** *****, good for nothing!!
He had employed his nefew Toufic Yannieh as consultant with a salary of 3 millions while we were getting nothing and I spent all Easter Holidays in the Ministry working, the others did not come, had given up and surrendered, and my kids were left alone at home. I WAS SO MAD, I can't tell you how mad.
Finally around May 11th I decided not to go to work. Laure did not dare ask why. I had told her that I have a goodheart but I'm not dumb.
May 15th there was a conference in Phoenicia, PAID BY MINISTRY of INFORMATION!!!!! Such conferences cost between 15.000$ and 20.000$ (hotel, buffet, 20 microphones, translators etc...) I translated the speech of the Mexican Ambassador then handed it out for publishing at the NNA. At the break, I confronted Mitri and told him I m not going to work because he never asked for our salaries, the **** ****** told me that he never obliged me to work. Ok that was the peak.
I called Ghada Eid then called Laure I told her: i m going on TV if you dont pay me, so Laure threatened to kill me, then called all people we know in common and asked them to put pressure on me. One of those was a bitch and girlfriend of Mitri called Baria Ahmar who also threatened to kill me if I go live. And the rest is as you know. They made their threats true, then paid the rest of staff while I got nothing.
I was so stupid nice and gave Tarek Mitri two big chances to present our case to the government before it goes in "tosrif a3mal" as a purely administrative government which cannot take financial decisions. Instead, Mitri missed both chances! I called Nabil Nkoula and told him, so Nabil talked about it in one of his speeches: Badna ntayrak ya tarek ma3eshet l mwazafin, said Nkoula.
Mitri insisted that he wont do anything and will relay things to the next minister, so I went on TV the first time and Laure sleiman began insulting me and denied I had worked and said I was a trainee but because I had all documents and statistics she was obliged to take back what she said in the second episode, and promised to pay me.
Meanwhile afte the first episode I called Adib Abi Akl the president's press speaker and told him what they did to me and he promised that the president will intervene in the final governmental meeting July 2, it was a Tuesday and would act to my favor. Indeed President Sleiman intervened and told Mitri to present the case, the opposition vehemently opposed but then agreed because the president asked them to agree. So the salaries confirmation was released, and I? I did not get a cent!
Anyway long talk short, this ministry is the epitome of corruption and lies.
More to tell you under my reply: "Who is Laure Sleiman?" and "Who is Tarek Mitri?"
