This means that he can resign

I honestly think all major Christian parties should reconcile with the Patriarch! PERIOD! As Christians we can't remain divided, its just destroying us! Look at Junblat now allying with Nabih Berri, whose probably dealing with Hariri under the table as well. Soon enough they will make a unified alliance with Hezbollah and what will we Christians have left...nothing, but divided parties who can't agree on anything! We honestly need to unite as Christians to maintain a say in the government and in Lebanon as a whole.

The best FPM can do from now it's to ignore him and don't even respond to whatever he says. He is a citizen like anybody else so he can give his opinion if he likes, but we don't need to pay attention to it.

I'm affraid this means that there are only two options :
- he leaves
- he dies

Yes?

Any ideas on enumerating all his evil doings? We can start with 1989, to october 1990, all the way to today...At every step, he choose the path of splitting us...

Ideas?

it would not work , Maronites have a privilege that other catholic sects do not have... they elect or appoint the head of their sect namely their patriarch the Vatican does not interfere..... i think if something is ought to be done it should be directed at the council of bishops since they are the ones who elect the patriarch .....if we get these to our side we might be able to do something .....

But all in all i think we'll just have to wait till God takes him into his mercy ....

This fact is a reflection of how Batrak Sfeir has always been dealing with the bishops for years.

Anyway, I think that our policy now should be :

1°/ Calling him His Eminence ;
2°/ Smiling politely ;
3°/ Considering him as the Batrak of the maronite church.

And let him speak without answering him. Implement what we should learn from the bible : rends à César ce qui est à César et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu.

I agree a 100% percent.

We need to give him lip service.

i am not sure it is feasible .

allow me to quote a doctor in univ we were talking about elections and the batrak i was shocked to hear him say this knowing he is a croyant et praticant :
لما ألله بيغضب على شعب بيبعتلو بطرك متل صفير

the batrak is driving people away from church
instead of beying the "unificateur" factor he is dividing the christians by siding openly with one side against the other , his bad prise de position and his "electoral" speech . it was so obvious !
