Default Is our economy growing? - 20th November 2008

PM Fion has to understand that economical number crunching in Lebanon should be taken with a kais Arak, not only a grain of salt

On a more serious note, does anyone know where this 6% bonanza is coming from? Any hard evidence?

the year is not done, holidays and shopping season has not even started and there are already speculations about growth in lebanon whereas it is confusion all over the world..

even computer companies are not able to estimate their growth or decline... for example, HP made a surprise yesterday when it recorded earnings for the last quarter.

in the same business, Dell is expected to report losses..

Walmart is reported earnings, Target and all other retailers are reported losses..

even in the good days (stable times), i don't think any numbers about lebanon's growth or debt have ever been accurate..

Expats receipts do feature as part of the GDP so maybe that's what's propping it up. But hey why should people complain?
Get rid of those politicians and replace them with men/women who understand the real world and the country's economy would really fly.
