Dear Members,

As stated by >Watani<, The Orange Room is creating a database of potential blood donors to be contacted in case of emergencies. Several members, listed above, have already stepped forward and declared their blood type. We need those members to confirm their will of entering our database by voting in this poll.
All voters on the poll will automatically be considered potential donors and will be listed in our database, so we kindly ask members who do not wish to donate blood, or cant be donors, to refrain from voting. Instead, you can discuss blood types in this thread in the Self Improvement section.

Blood Donors who declare themselves in here are asked to send via PM the following information:
  • Country/Region of Residence
  • Means of contact in case of emergency
  • Willing to donate Whole blood, Platelets or both

These information will remain confidential and will not be used under any circumstance, apart from the stated goal.

If you have any questions or suggestions, do not hesitate to post here. After all, this initiative will yield best results only if we all cooperate and chanel it the right way.
And remember, donating blood is harmless and could save lives.

With hopes that noone will need any blood transfusion,

Best Regards,

The Orange Room Staff

A very good initiative...

I will put my bloody type, although I do not live in Lebanon currently.

I have never given blood, but also, I have never had the urgency (I have an A+ blood type and it is the most common blood type there is). However, I wouldn't hesitate one bit if there were! And I hope most people wouldn't either!

Very nice initiative
I live in the USA and as of now I can't donate blood here.
In the mid 1990s I did donate blood few times, no problems( I was in Ohio).
Last year, there was a blood donation drive close to where I work; I went there ; it was a hot summer day; after half an hour checking vital signs and filling up papers and answering questionaire, one of the last questions: did you live in Europe in the 1980s, I said yes; they said sorry, you can't donate blood anymore.

I asked why?
they said because of the "mad cow" disease that hit Europe.

I got so mad at them and I left.

do you know by any chance if there is such a eliminating question in Lebanon?

Not that i know of, they just hand you a questionnaire of about 20 to 30 questions, but none is related to the Mad Cow disease.

I might not have much to give, but for those who might need it, I say, take it.

Last time I donated here I was not asked such a question.

However, take a look at Blood Eligibility Guidelines , think of your eating habits back then, and practice your conscience.

Cheers!
