We call this "Moral Flexibility" since I doubt any of the FPMers here who think this is wrong will actually do anything about it.

As for those who support this new path your 'party' seems to have taken: What have you become?

the problem is not with the action.. it's a noble thing to provide free health screening..

i am sure Dr Khoury has been doing that for many years however, talking about right now unfortunately makes it similar to what Hariri is doing, distributing money for political gains...

on the other hand, it's not absolutely wrong, since this is what people expect... believe it or not, helping people for many years counts less than helping them before the elections... it has something to do with the psychology of the people...

they expect this kind of benevolent actions at this point of time and they would be really disappointed if they don't get it...

For me, an FPMer is a person who would never support the khademet way of doing politics.

Answering someone else in this thread: Being in FPMer is not just voting for FPM. How naive could you be? Being an FPMer used to be standing for a set of principles. Principles that seem to have been forgotten by many here.

MP Dr.Khoury made me a great favor long before being an MP and which I will be grateful for ever, however I think this commendable humanitarian act should have been organised otherway.

النائب الخوري أطلق حملة طبية شاملة:
هدفنا خدمة الجميع من دون أي تمييز

وطنية- 1/11/2008 (سياسة) أطلق النائب الدكتور كميل الخوري في مؤتر صحافي، عقده ظهر اليوم، في مكتبه في المطيلب - المتن، حملة طبية شاملة، بدأت منذ سنتين، حيث تم تجهيز مستشفى بيروت الحكومي في الكرنتينا، وصولا الى حملة فحص العيون المجانية وتوزيع النظارات الطبية على المحتاجين في مختلف المناطق وعلى جميع الفئات دون تمييز، والتي بدأت في مطلع الأسبوع الماضي في مكتب هيئة قضاء المتن الشمالي في جل الديب، وإستكملت في مكتب "التيار الوطني الحر" في بكفيا وصولا الى التوزيع في المكتب الخاص للنائب الخوري في المطيلب، والتي سيتبعها توزيع أدوية للأمراض المزمنة وستشمل المناطق كافة.

بداية، تحدث النائب الخوري عن الحملة، مشيرا الى ان "الهدف الاول منها هو خدمة المواطن اللبناني من دون التعرض لكرامته او سؤاله عن إنتمائه الطائفي او الحزبي، فالذين إستفادوا من هذه المساعدات لم يسألوا عن هويتهم وإنتمائهم وما حصل في المتن سينسحب على جميع المناطق".

وحول توقيت هذه الحملة على أبواب الإنتخابات النيابية لفت النائب الخوري الى ان "الحملة عمرها سنتان وما حصل هو ما أثمرته بفضل التعاون مع الأصدقاء في الخارج".
أضاف: "لقد تعرضنا لإنتقادات عديدة بأننا أطلقنا الحملة بعد عودة الجنرال عون من طهران، في حين ان هذه المساعدات هي من واشنطن والسويد من خلال "جمعية الإغاثة الدولية والتطوير " ird عبر ممثلها في لبنان جورج جريس وبمبادرة شخصية من الإخصائي في فحص العيون جورج كفى المقيم في السويد، والذي قدم نظارات طبية بلغت قيمتها 250 الف دولار أميركي".

ووجه النائب الخوري تحية شكر الى كل من ساهم في إنجاح هذه المشاريع وخصوصا لجنة قضاء المتن الشمالي والفريق الإعلامي والطبي المواكب لهذه الحملة.

وأكد ردا على سؤال "التكامل والتكاتف بين أعضاء تكتل التغيير والاصلاح كل بحسب إختصاصه للوصول بسفينة التغيير والإصلاح الى بر الأمان".

بعد ذلك عرف ممثل ال ird جريس بالجمعية ، مشيرا الى انها منظمة غير حكومية أميركية تعمل في أكثر من 21 دولة في العالم، وتعنى بمساعدة المحتاجين، وبدأت عملها في لبنان بعد حرب تموز 2006 ، وشملت مساعداتها المزارعين وإصلاح البنى التحتية في القرى التي تهدمت إضافة الى إعداد برامج تدريب مهني وتقديم أدوية.

ثم تحدث جورج كفى شارحا مبادرته الشخصية في تقديم نظارات طبية بعد الفحص الدقيق والمجاني لمن يحتاجها، مؤكدا ان "هذه الحملة ليست الا خطوة أولى في رحلة الألف ميل".

بدوره، أشار عضو لجنة الأطباء في "التيار الوطني الحر" الدكتور مارون غبش الى أهمية الشأن الطبي الذي يعتبر ركيزة الأمان الإجتماعي في أي بلد في العالم، وكذلك في لبنان، مؤكدا على "أهمية التعاون بين الدولة والمجتمع الاهلي، وان هذه الحملة ستشمل جميع المناطق دون إستثناء".
