ecce homo,

I think that the Syrians would like for GMA to take his orders from them. But obviously, it hasn't worked so well. GMA is very independent-minded, and his followers are (for the most part) very suspicious of and hostile toward the idea of Syrian meddling in Lebanese affairs.

But that doesn't mean that Syria is not going to TRY to send him a message by using Wiam Wahhab and Suleiman Frangieh and whatever else they want, to get him to play by their rules.

That was the point of this thread: to discuss the extent to which the OPPOSITION is losing patience with GMA, and not the extent to which the opposition is JUSTIFIED or not in losing patience with anyone.

It's simply a matter of trying to intepret recent developments and statements in the press, and wondering whether they suggest that Syria is trying to pressure the FPM into accepting Hariri's deal.

To me, it's obvious that this is what is going on. Why is this so controversial? :)

Syria, Wahhab, Frangieh and everyone know that GMA doesn't take orders from anyone but his mind. They also know that he doesn't listen to such messages, and there's no way to blackmail him. GMA is stronger than all of them because he has no foreign connections. You have to understand this first. Then you would know that Wahhab and anyone wouldn't send such messages on TV, because at first, they know that it's useless.

Useless thread because at the end of the day, wheter opposition loses patience with GMA or not, Hezbollah won't enter without FPM and if Hezbollah doesn't enter then nobody else from the opposition will (can lol) enter and we all know==> no government without opposition.

Umm, I didn't say that he was invincible or that he had super powers or anything. He's independent, but he's not stupid! He's a politician, after all. :)

By the way, the trait of "not taking orders from anyone but his mind" is not always a good thing. Sometimes this can be a liability in politics, if potential allies feel like they can't trust you because you won't listen to anyone but yourself.

Let's wait and see if Bassil takes the Energy Ministry. If he does, I promise to pretend like it wasn't the Syrians who "influenced" GMA, and that he came up with the idea on his own. ;)

How can bassil or GMA get orders from syria, and GMA got what he was asking from hariri.
GMA was fighting to get telecom and he got it.
GMA was fighting to get bassil as a minister and he got it.

I say Hariri made an agreement with the syrians by sending nouhad mashnouk and the syrians told him let hariri fix his problem with GMA.

If you know GMA's history, you wouldn't post such thing. GMA can't be influenced by anyone. if it was the case, Syria would have pushed on GMA to accept any offer from Hariri, and got the government formed, then send it as a gift to KSA.
Frangieh, Wahhab and all the others know that well. believe me they wouldn't do such a horrible mistake by addressing GMA this way. GMA was an army commander, and he's not used to take orders from anyone. and if someone is losing patience, GMA would tel him to find the nearest wall, and hit his head with.

Qifa Nabki,

The Loyalists spent 5 months accusing GMA of blocking the government's formation, because he wants Bassil as Minister, and the Telecom ministry. They kept arguing about this subject for the last 120 days, and no one from the opposition "sent a message" to GMA that they are losing patience. Now at the end of the government formation, they decided to send the message?
