Default Next elections issues: First winners or Losers the People - 8th September 2008

I've been thinking about a couple of moves the FPM might be doing for the next elections.

There are a lot of moves that I approve of and others that I don't.

For me, seeing the FPM win would be a great deal for me since I am sure that will change something in the country and for the best.

But if the FPM loses I would be first to lose whereas FPM's MPs or cadres will still be where they were before.

That's why it's very important for us to show FPM's leadership where we think they are going the wrong way and what are our propositions to remedy that.

For example, I've been showing some reserves concerning Aoun's demands of judging medias such as L'Orient Le Jour and Al Moustaqbal for publishing wrong stories about the Sojoud incident.

This move will only affect FPM's image in the media and will show a distorted face of the FPM (not because they hate the FPM, but if you were in L'Orient's place and someone asks for you to be judged what would you do ???)

The FPM should become friendly with the media in order to show its real face to all the lebanese and not only the ones who watch OTV, NewTV, Manar and NBN!!!

We need to have a complaint, or people's department because the first ones to lose will be us and not Aoun or Kanaan or Bassil or anyone else

Quite on the contrary, while FPM opponents will be increasing their campaign against FPM, FPM should show its hard fist and strike (figuratevily speaking) whoever tarnishes its image, let it be Orient, Moustaqbal or whoever.

DI, I know you don't believe in that and I cherish your input, also I know that this post was sarcastic

I would like to have your input on this issue and propose a solution for it.

Thanks

L'Orient and the others has been against GMA personally and the FPM generally since 2005.

By the way how should GMA please L'Orient-le-Jour so that they write FPM frienfly articles?

Send an email to the editor and ask him please not to lie next time, of course if you are nice with the way you ask nobody will lie anymore and everybody lives happily ever after.

sadly in lebanon, u don't run election campaigns by attempting to elevate and educate the ppl to support u, rather u tap into their social phobic fears and abuse them to submission using fear tactics, that's how u get the votes of the "god fearing peasants" in third world countries.

fpm can do what it like, but i don't expect ppl to respond to it if it applies any "awareness" campaigns, ppl just rather prefer indulging in conspiracy theory fantasies and simple black and white concepts.

that explains why are all our local medias are professional tabloids.
ppl need to eat, on both sides of the story hehe. someone has got to feed them.. hehe

That's not true, L'orient Le jour was on the sidelines during the 2005 elections, and even most of its journalists were pro-FPM.

The thing with L'orient Le jour is that the articles depend on who writes them, meaning that the newspaper per se doesn't have a preferred political line.

Now how to remedy, one of the solutions should be to hire a PR firm to take care of showing the real image of FPM.

Organizing press conferences, getting journalists (skeptical ones are prefferred) into a small gathering letting them ask all kinds of questions and answer with whole honesty.

Let them see the real face of the FPM.

A PR campaign should be organized to get them close to us and not get them away from us by asking them to be judged!!

Do you really think that will help? Do you really think that a person like Michael Young would change his mind on GMA just because the FPM invited him to have a chat with him?
