I agree, the people behind it had good intentions, but it was a bit clumsy All muslims believe in the Bible.
Anyway, I've been seeing this picture on my way to the uni for the past couple of months, and it always made me wonder..
I really felt the unity, the love and I started thinking about the day we REALLY got
close enough to be one unified entity.
The area where this picture stands is just on Dahye's limits,
I've seen a lot of other pictures of General Aoun in Dahyeh, I've seen Tayyar flags in some unexpected places.. But something's missing, not enough "mingling" ! More mingling is required! My uni is just a couple of minutes away from "Christian areas" yet not enough mutual minglings.
The MOU has done a LOT, it has broken the ice, a lot more steps should follow
Like a "nizam ta3wiyeh", with mass visits..
In an attempt to remove the hegemony of any "religious presence" on any lebanese region,
or at least spread appropriate awareness. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to chicham For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

The words are taken from Antoun Saadeh, albeit amended. Saadeh said "koullouna mouslimoun li rab el-3alameen, minna man aslama lillah bil-injeel, wa minna man aslama lillah bil-qur'an, wa minna man aslama lillah bil-7ikma." | | | | | Registered Member

There has never been a war / fight / historical disagreement
between Atheists and Muslims/Christians/Buddhists in Lebanon.
There HAS BEEN tensions between different Religious sects in lebanon.
This ad is trying to remove the tensions and make these people
come closer to living a truly shared life together.
It is not against atheism, nor should it include anything about Atheists
in order for it not to be judged as sectarian. | | | | | Registered Member

I don't want to over-analyze this ad, it's basically aimed at simpletons which consist of the majority of the Lebanese public. But not all of us who are with the opposition believe in god, and the majority of those with the loyalists, like the majority of those with the opposition, do believe in god. That's the problem with religion, if one uses it for politics, one becomes a laughing stock, like George W Bush.
But ya, whatever, if the people need such ads to remind them not to hate each other over ancient theological issues, then so be it. | The ad talks about blieving in God becuz the majority of the country does so. | | | | | Registered Member
