Default my two cents , from beirut - 14th May 2008

This is my personal take on the situation. It is strictly directed towards the original FPM base and not the recent add-ons (you know very well who you are). Among all "opposition" ppl the FPM
are they only ppl I can possibly communicate with. If u are a non-FPM opposition sympather please ignore my post.

I never thought it would come to this.

The whole country + the army is now under the direct control of AMAL HA SSNP and other various thugs, militiamen and what not. The army is a joke and we will never again trust them to protect us. Never again will be excited about our the army fighting and destroying any fatah al islam types.

Mainstream Sunni and Druze lebanese have been humiliated. The reason is to protect the weapons of hizbolla that are necessary for the liberation of the Shebaa farms !! Another joke .

The shia community is following two backwards leaders. A militia leader and a heavenly sayyid. Instead of moving forward with their lives they seem to be becoming more radicalized and more thuggish.

Being under oppression I have the feeling that some sunnas are now way more open to the concept of israel . In my mind I personally have made peace with them after the terrorism that I been subjected to.

The sad news is that it seems to me that many many sunnas are now open to alqaida thought and action. Secular progressive FM has failed to protect them from the more primitive and bent elements in their neighborhoods.

So this is how it feels to be ahel el zimma just like the christians have been for a long time. We are armed to the teeth but we are also nice and we wont kill you ! We will "protect" you ! Its been a week and I can already tell you that this is a very crappy situation to be in.

Now its the age of the shia to rule. The rest of us can enjoy the "protection" that they will provide us.

I only hope that the mainstream shia will start to understand and appreciate concepts like the rule of law, free speech, government, and education. Maybe now that they will rule over all of us they might start to learn some good habits from the ppl they conquered.

I hope my community will continue to remain moderate, secular, eduation/business oriented, and tolerant in spite of our total defeat. We should rebuild twice of whatever they destroyed and invest more in our education and economy and never on weapons. We should also make sure that our values are shared with all other sunni communities in lebanon. We must honor our fallen heroes but realize that we are outgunned by a more primitive nation fueled by hate and lack of appreciation for the value of their own lives (and maybe sign a MOU with HA for our protection like FPM did!).

I also apologize to the christians of Lebanon on behalf of my community in case we ever behaved the way the shias do today. One day the shias will look back and apologize to all of us.

We have lost friends and family, Hariri, personal freedom and security, the belief in our country and army, acceptance of shia ppl, and the control of our foreign policy. Still we will continue to move forward in our lives, continuously learn and improve ourselves and stay away from ideologies and religious zeal. We are uniquely progressive in the muslim world and we will continue to be.

Sorry to tell you that what you wrote is none sense. You wasted your time and you're going to waste the time of the others.
By attacking the Lebanese army you lost all credibility here..
and to be straight with you.. I didn't read the whole post,, I stoped at the second para when u started accusing the army that they are taking orders by HA/SSNP & Amal.
So I return the two cent to u.

You are ignoring the main problem. Why ignore the fact that your beloved government is on the verge of canceling the two decisions that led to this fight?
Was the government decison right or wrong?

Saad El Hariri led you to where you are now…and it seems Hariri Jr. is sinking you deeper...It is OK if you got only two options: FM or Al-Qaeda.

I am sure that many sunnis will choose a third route

Mohammad, you are telling me that the sunnis don't trust the army now and might look for al-qa3ida for help, same thing happened 30 years ago when they looked to PLO for help. And i have heard lots of sunni use the same words. IF alot of sunnis are thinking that way, then there is a HUGE problem with this community, and THEY need to work on it.

Greetings Mohammed...great post, straight from the heart and very bold if i may say...
but allow me to say a couple more things as a true FPMer, not an add-on, and as a fellow Lebanese citizen who has been flipping through the everyday events...

how come you have the nerve to blame the army??
walaw...where did ur candidate gen Suleiman go?? where did all the so-called "support" u showed go? let me explain the army's position in a nutshell mate as was said by Suleiman himself: "we did not interfere because there were clashes between 2 armed belligerents...had there been a unilateral attack by a side against another, the army would've stopped the attackers in their tracks...but in this case, both parties were guns blazing, and we couldn't open fire on either side because we will cram the army in a crisis of its own".
by the way, isn't it the same army that stood watching while ur fellow Sunnis were using axes to chop off the limbs, heads, and dicks of other Sunnis?? such a goldfish memory Hein? or do u probably need the link??
by the way, does this brutality remind u of anybody?? late captain Miled Neddef for example?? i think there's a chance that those r the same people who kiled him...don't u??
im not going to get to the bottom of this cuz it's gonna take forever, but what i think is the following:
[]did u see what the HA "terrorists" and "thugs" did to the FM fighters?? they bound them, that's true, they blindfolded them, that's very true, but did they hack off their limbs with axes? did they beat them with sticks as they died? did they say to their comrades "videotape me as i put my flip-flops in his mouth"? did they mutilate bodies?? HELL NO!!
HA arrested more than 6 jumblattis...did they stab them to death?? did they execute them from point blank range?? did they cut their limbs off and throw them in the street? huh?? []

Mohamed.
I can understand your feelings and believe me our feelings back in 13/10/1990 was was worst. We have fought 15 yrs with the only hope to reach the end of the tunnel. When we thought we have reached it, we entered into a darker one.
I am not here to blame or to give any responsibility, I just want to say that I am confident that the short time will show you that you are wrong and that AL the Lebanese including the shiaa will be able to go through.
I just would have hoped SH to have appreciated and listened to GMA in the last 3 yrs. He kept talking and talking.
I will repeat one phrase, the best one I found that GMA said, it was back during the July 2006 war and in the middle of an article , he said that the most important process in the new Lebanon is "To Disarm The MIND" of people .
Unfortunately, the golden opportunity of March 2005 was wiped out by more and more minds arming....
... and the rest is known

Mohd, I realize that you are hurt and offended by what has happened recently, however do try to avoid generalization or labeling... as you can see many if not most people from FPM (to whom you are addressing your message) will not answer favorably to the way you have presented the issue(s) at hand..

Regards
