Default my analysis of why the current LF leadership is against aoun president - 2nd March 2006

i think the current LF leadership knows very well that its role will end if GMA becomes president ..and that is becoz

current LF leadership right now its taking its power from jumblatt and

hariri, and that is becoz jumblatt and hariri need the LF to fight aoun in the

christian street , so if aoun becomes a president for a reason of a pressure due to his christian popularity(and since the presidency is a maronite chair)

,hariri and jumblatt will prefer dealing with aoun since he will become the president ,and then...the current LF leadership role will end ,and it will be thrown in the garbage can by its current aliies hariri and jumblatt

i think this is my explanation ..what do u think?

how do u explain pierre gmayyil never running for president while the great kamil cham3oun, with less christian popularity then gmayyil, manager to get the nod?
i thnik ur explanations are wrong, im not defending anyone, GMA has all the right to become president no matter what he is currently doin or who he is standing with, but LF is not placing a veto on aoun.
geagea brought aoun as a PM back in 88, ok they didn t get along and we all saw what happened, they still dont get along and thats obvious, yet i think geagea has no problem with aoun becoming president. If LF dont want aoun becoming president, i think geagea wouldve ran for it also...
plz stop ur propaganda taht LF is taking power and orders from saad hariri, LF and FPM never took orders from anybody even during the darkest times of lebanon, i think we all agree that if there are free people in lebanon, they are n LF and FPM bi ghadd l nazar 3an l siyese.
my explanation why aoun is not the likely replacement for lahoud is first batraks position, second the lebanese view toward him specially that the chrsitian street is divided by two, so he cant claim to be the only leader...and alot more id rest my case for now lol too much for a first post...

i think that u noticed that i always use the word CURRENT LF LEADERSHIP , it is just to say that LF needs to go back to its original basics

and about the current lf leadership taking orders ...well its apoint of vue ....but i think th ereal maestros are hariri and jumblatt ..and LF are followers...this has been prooven by everything including the LF share in the majority which is now 5/71 deputy's

u cant say divided

sorry but all statisitcs say that aoun has a 70 to 75 % acceptance in the christian street ...which is a huuuge percentage in a demcratic country..becoz usually no one can be accepted by more than 80 % (unlike saddam hussein who got 100%) so the christian street gave his word in this idea..

take europe or america the one who gets 50.1 % gets the presidency ...so why heik 3am bet3a2doua ma3 el general

and concerning that the general doesnt have the support of all the christians ....well when jesus came to earth ..he wasnt loved by 100 % of the people ...so do u want aoun to be accepted by 100%

I personnally think that the LFs need to revive their picture and their strengh.

the 14th march coalition needs a powerful christian ally, seeing that KC is too divided and has almost no representation (same with Kataeb). They nedd the LFs to be their window towards the christian street.

We all know that the LFs have always been the protectors of the christians, so now they are trying to win back their popularity.

With Aoun becoming president, this could get more and more difficult for them, because the former would always be in the spotllight, he'll be the de facto christian representative, and the FM/PSP and the Hezb would have to deal with him directly. Seeing that the LFs have no legislative power, 5/128 MPs, their voice in the parliament is almost void.

And using the streets in case they need to show their malcontent would picture the LFs as the bad guys because the people are fed up of these manners.

What to do?

The FM needs the LFs, and the LFs need the FM, that's why we see Geagea more and more in the spotlight, that's y we see him more and more on TV....

It won't be long before we see a new hero praised by the FM and maybe the PSP called Geagea...Bkerke might fall for it too...

Lebanon is not made of Christians only (with all respect).

So stop imitating the typical journalists and stop dissecting Lebanon and analyzing it piece by piece.

I refuse to be part of analyses of sects because it is not healthy at all. And I encourage all FPMers to do so, here and everywhere and wherever a debate is opened around them.
