President Michel Suleiman will visit Iran later this month, foreign ministry spokesman Hassan Ghashghavi told reporters on Monday.
"On Azar 4, Michel Suleiman is due to make a trip to Iran," Ghashghavi said, referring to November 24 on the Iranian calendar but without giving further details about the visit.

In Beirut, the presidency confirmed that the visit will take place on November 24 and 25.

Iran hailed Suleiman's election in May after supporting Qatari mediation to end Lebanon's long-running political crisis.

Suleiman, who received Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reza Shibani at the Baabda Palace on Monday, said that his foreign visits were aimed at reasserting Lebanon's regional and international role.

Now more than GMA's visit to Syria, I'm waiting for GMA's visit to France where he could eventually meet with Sarkozy. The president should be discussing with Iranians how to stop nurturing militias in Lebanon such as Hezbollah. Anything else is an unfunny joke, like the president himself.
