Saladin, when Alain Aoun was getting beaten on August 7 2001, where were you and what were you doing?

In the last election, The FPM when it was sure of winning left a vacant position for the Gemayyel that was killed (I cant remember his name now) and look how his mum and dad turned so vicious against Aoun.
So why should the FPM leave any seats for his brother when the election could be very tight. It's not like it's a charity contest knowing how seriously the Lebanese take inconsequential events such as electing representatives who barely contribute enything useful to the well being of that country.

They could leave a position vacant if they can get to trade it off with another one where the kataeb is sure to win but it's hard to tell in which area it they hold sway.

They could do it indirectly though by having a SSNP candidate on their list. That would be a sure bet for them to lose a lot of the Christian votes and may get the younger Gemayyel over the line without looking like a philantropic gesture, assuming of course that the armenians will still be part of the FPM coalition.

The beauty of Lebanese elections is that they are devoid of any ideological context they look like a comedy with too many characters and hardly a worthwhile plot.

This doesnt justify or deny any of what i've just said. Besides, it doesnt stop at Alain Aoun, we have also Goubran Bassil and another MP(forgot his name).

Why shoould being relative to General Aoun an obstacle to someone to become a minister !?

The other MP is Selim Aoun who is from Zahle, and he is related to GMA same as i am related to Elvis Presley, Gebran has been in FPM since 1989, a decade before meeting his wife and he was a "leader" in FPM and while meeting with GMA in Paris, he met his wife, so with or without his wife, Gebran has been active member in FPM.

As for Alain, it's very funny, Alain and many other members in GMA's family are very active in FPM, i know at least 10 of them, they all used to get beaten and arrested same like the rest of us, even today, they are in FPM same as the rest of us, while Alain broke his way toward the leadership (still he is not a major figure in FPM), the rest are just normal members.
