Now that Michel Murr showed his true colors, I think GMA should never leave a place for him on the C&R list, it is not worth it. A guy like this can never be trusted, and he will never provide any good for fighting corruption. Therefore, a good and efficient candidate must be chosen to face Murr. I could not find better than Ghassan Rahbani for the following reasons:
1- He is capable of reaching out to many Lebanese in general and Metniotes in particular. Under the current attack and propanaganda against FPM, it is important that FPM's message be conveyed to as many citizens as possible, so the messenger has to be somebody who can attract a wide audience.
2- Ghassan represents the spirit of youth and revolution. We need new faces and better representation for FPM. Even though many of the current FPM officials and MPs are good, but new candidates with higher charisma are essential.
3- Ghassan has his special and artistic means to make FPM's message heard. He also knows to turn on, not only FPM activists, but many many of our reluctant supporters.
4- Ghassan is somebody on whom GMA and FPMers can rely, he never betrayed the cause and never back stabbed FPM.
This is my personal opinion, what do other forumers and, eventually FPM officials, think ? | | | | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to kmarthe For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

This is my personal opinion, what do other forumers and, eventually FPM officials, think ? | The problem is that Tashnag are making it clear that they will be voting for Murr and Murr Alone.
so if we present 2 orthodoxes (moukhayber/rahbani) for the candidacy, toshtib might probably happen and we might lose them both. | | | | | Orange Room Moderator

And If the situation is still the same like 2005 (from the list point of view) i think even if the toshtib was on one candidate he will still win.
And note that:
1- Ghassan Rahbani is in very good terms with the armenian community
2- Ghassan Moukheiber is VERY VERY popular in Metn | | | | | Registered Member

I had already tried to open a similar thread but somehow the admins didn't approve it.
I fully support Ghassan el Rahbany's candidacy, he's a great man, having him as an MP would be a breakthrough in Lebanese politics, he would add a lot of value to the daily political life. Even if he wasn't chosen to be an MP, I think he should still be chosen for a ministry (the ministry of culture for example).
I also want to add one more thing to his qualities, he is enormously popular amongst Armenians, he has worked a lot with them and for them in addition to some songs he dedicated to them, I think even the most hardcore Tashnag would prefer to vote for him rather than Michel el Murr! | | | | | Registered Member
