My personal opinion, is that holding this national conference based on relegious sects is all wrong, because the streets are not devided like this... I mean Amine jmayel, samir gaagaa (which are supposed to represent christians) will be on the FM side.

But as per MP michel L MURR, I think he is the one who deserves it cause he has the mojority of the orthodox votes.

I think the best match in this dilemna is to have a high official post + the majority of the votes in certian sect..........unfortunetly none of the participants have these qualifications

HASSAN NASRALA : Huge popularity in the shiist sect but no official post

GMA : Huge popularity in the Christian sect and some other sects but relatively low official post ( MP GMA ? that is odd ... i mean president 3al alile )

NABIH BERRY : Low popularity in the shiist sect but high official post

SAAD HARRIRI : Huge popularity in the Sunnist sect but relatively low official post

ja3ja3 : Low popularity and NO official post ....

Anyway re-read the original thread so that we won't have a misunderstanding

Cheers
So we agree.

I go for Murr. Goes, he knows Jumblat very well and will not let him pass an idea or so but just playing with the words.
He has a big experience in government etc... While makari will eb there just to represent himself.

We need people who can discuss and not fight. Discuss all possible ways and not fight to get their own view first. I can see that with Murr. But never with Makery.

Murr huh, since when you love this guy? have you forgotten August 7. You tell me that Murr represents the Lebanese Orthodox, I dunno about that since I am a maronite, but all those who votes to Murr are Mjannassiin.
He only represents himslef.

Michel El Murr true weight was shown in the June 2002 by-elections when he tried to run his daughter Mirna against his brother Gabriel.

FPM & LF both supported Gabriel against Michel Murr's candidate, and even when Gaby faced the fierce corrupted tactics to compromise the integrity of the election, he prevailed and won.

I still remember how Elias el Murr declared tha the use of curtains in the election rooms was optional! What a joke!

And of course Abou el Mich and his son had to close down MTV just to punish Gabriel for winning despite all the corrupted weight thrown against him.

And last but not least, Michel el Murr pressured the system to overturn Gabriel's electoral victory with a cover-up media charge.

Michel el Murr's rotten political machine was dealt a several blow on that day, and I doubt that he will (or his legacy) ever be able to win in the Matn without allying with a powerful figure like Michel Aoun.

Michel El-Murr took 9000 orthodox vote in Metn out of 11000 according to the interview with LBC yesterday. So he does represent more than just the moujanassin

Farid Makari won in Al-Koura and did need the 2000 election law. He deserves his seat. (Koura is the biggest Orthodox base in the country)

Tayyib Bassita, I don't know what this fuss is all about. Michel could send his son Elias instead of him as a deputy prime minister. In that way, the political post and the sectarian representation would be both respected. Both Elias Murr and Farid Makari could be present.
