Is their a follow up?
Why was the christian side summed up to LF and Nayla Tueini?
I will not reply to the content of the article, not interested.
I will just point out to some phrases that gave me a laugh.

Then he turns and points to the kebab shop. “This is Hassan’s favourite restaurant. We organise secret deliveries.” I’m not sure whether he’s joking.
|
I am more than sure the cab driver didnt refer to SHN as Hassan, I am not completely sure it was a joke he was making though.

We park outside the local LF headquarters. On top of the buildings are two immense crosses. There is an urgency to Christianity here; I feel as if Christ died a few weeks ago and the word is spreading.
|
It is more than obvious the reporter felt an imbalance in the LF on and forth in politics, most probably he labeled them as unrealistic basless outspoken group of wannabe youngsters.
Thats a foreigner talking, a complete disgrace for the LF they should realize how stupid in practice they are already.

Expensive cars pull up to be parked by valet service. You overhear the conversations of the Lebanese diaspora in mixtures of English, French and even Portuguese mixed into Arabic. Young men and women dressed in cutting-edge fashion drift along like a cosmopolitan wealth-parade, completely at odds with the sectarian slums around them.
|
This phrase clinched it to me by no expense, a 'cracker' !
''cutting edge fashion drift along a cosmopolitan wealth parade!!''

here you go, the author put the phrase i had trouble putting together, since long now!

Then he turns the conversation turns to that traveller’s classic: “Don’t you think my country has the best girls?”
|
I wonder if any decent lebanese aproves the above saying? i wonder if the sister of the mensionned LFer would do good merchandise for rich Saudi tourist.
Notice how the author goes all soft on nayla Tueini in the interviews thereafter, he doesn't seem to contradict or sarcast any of her saying, as he's did previously on there, whats more funny is Nayla ends up dumping him once he invites her for a drink

It seems to me that, because the civil war went on for so long and was so horrible for all sides, those that can afford it try to lose themselves in this New York lifestyle of bars, clubs, fashion and girls.
|
Leave aside the sexist remark by the author on girls above, he got a really ambigious conception of clublife reality in Lebanon, he says those that can afford it go for it to let lose pressure; is it those that cannot afford it go for cheaper clubs? not true at all, its not a matter of money, IMO.
