25th October 2008
Based on Your family: 2009 V/S 2005 elections, any change? we notice that inside a small sample of people, some have friends and families who are still on their same political believes, others changed or are divided. Here we can make a change, a move that will push FPM further in preparing the 09 elections.
Why dont we lobby, each one inside his small circle of family & friends, for FPM? Very easy, straight to the point and IMO the most effective. At this stage no need for big campaigns or huge political gatherings. Let each of us do his homework and we shall succeed. | | | | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to Chief For This Useful Post:

Chief, your proposition is surely honorable.
A lot of us would like to do more but some of us think that their hands are tied and sometimes we run out of arguments since we can't even convince ourselves of moves made by the FPM such as:
1) Why haven't there been any FPM internal elections ?
2) Would the FPM ally with the SSNP, Baath, Wi2am Wahhab, Kanso etc ?
3) A corollary to the other question: FPM is a clean party and decided to work only with clean people, the latter aren't better than the Hariris in terms of corruption and Syrian slavery.
4) Why is FPM's message so negative ? It's like there is no ray of hope, it's like all what the party does is attack the others over and over without giving any alternative.
5) The FPM promised to be a different party that deals with politics differently. It promised to be a secular party whereas all that they talk about is the rights of the christians. We thought that it was only for Lebanon, but now we see Michel Aoun talking about the christians in Irak and Iran.
6) What about the non-christian supporters of the FPM ? We almost hear nothing about them.
There are some doubts about FPM's moves and everytime we raise them, people ask us either to shut up or leave. Sometimes we are treated like traitors, since if we don't do exactly what Michel Aoun asks, we're Geagea's dogs :) | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Canadian For This Useful Post: | | | Orange Room Supporter

add to that the extra noise 14ers do in every single conversation to deviate the attention from the subject and make anything look and sound stupid!

The problem is that everytime I used to ask such a question I was dubbed as a traitor and an FPM defect.
The point is to try to keep close the ones who voted for you before, then try to get some new votes.
I for example might probably vote FPM because I think they are the best alternative and because I don't think that some kids on this forum who dub me as a traitor are worth answering.
But, if I'm not getting any help from the party I support, then I don't see how I could do it on my own.
And if the party I support is making me look like a piece of **** because I'm asking questions, then I don't see why I should make an extra effort | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Canadian For This Useful Post: | | | Orange Room Supporter

It's about the arguments per se. Very few people are able to convince me on this forum, do you think everyone lacks these skills ? | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Canadian For This Useful Post:

as for you not being convinced, it depends on what your beliefs are. sometimes common sense and logical sequence of issues do not apply on all people equally. you can see some members on this forum from the opposing camp repeating the same arguments again and again when those arguments were answered with so much logic and convincing facts.
still some ppl tend to stick with their beliefs simply to prove their choice of camps/party is the right one irrespective of the facts or common sense!
