The major problem with these initiatives is that they are seasonal and contradict basic laws of change.

Every now and then, we get a new initiative from a motivated politician who wants to make a difference, but unfortunately these initiatives are seldom well planned. They do not last long and never follow an evolutionary path. Awareness campaigns and gradual applying of the rules while sticking to a long-term strategy is the 101 of creating any sustainable change at a national level.

Good luck,

This is what you posted in another thread a couple of weeks ago

Moreover, the purpose of the thread is not to discredit from the ISF effort in trying to apply the laws and regulations, but rather complaining from the "set of priorities" executed by the ISF.

In other words, let the ISF first try to control the Lebanese territories and try to avoid the daily assassinations and crimes and security clashes allover the country before ambushing the Lebanese citizens to check if they are abiding by the Lebanese driving regulations in order to make them pay additional infraction fees, definitely they are in no need for extra charges in their daily life.

So you already had 3 tickets because of ur seatbelt, and now you just got another for the same reason.

I'm guessing a father or an uncle in a high governmental position..correct me if I'm wrong

I think Mr Baroud should continue with his crackdown even harder.

i think they are paying th police guys a huge commission on the fines they issue. it should be reduced a bit.

although i totally agree on the decisions taken by minister baroud, safety on the roads is the responsibility of both the government and the motorists. what is happening now id that the government is asking the poeple to do their part and totally neglecting theirs.

i was driving a late night from hadath to choueifat, needless to say that there was not a single light on the road, i was driving very carefully then suddenly there in the middle of the road stands a TREE!!! i missed by chance and realized that it was big branch put there before a huge hole. few hundreds meters later i saw a huge tyre also put in the middle of the road to warn motorists of an even bigger hole.

i think they are implementing these rules because they know our roads are dead dangerous and they dont want to do anything about it so they throw theresposibility on the drivers.

it took some courage to take such a great decision. why te3oun and the ministers before didn't apply those rules. after all minister baroud showed them that it's not the moustache that make men, but it seems that it's something else found somewhere else (sorry moderators)

If you insist on paying the fine immediately like 3 or 4 times, this policeman ( the one before BIEL ) will propose that you pay him 50 000LL as bribery and he let go of the charges.
This should be abolished RIGHT AWAY, as all measures with corruption are useless.

LOL the road to choueyfat is a classic indeed ^^ You have that branch, a big tire, a smaller tire, one cement block ( 7ajar kheffen ), then you have the sewers overflowing, hiding even bigger holes which make cars slalom to avoid some of the holes ( eventually some are inevitable :x ). Some cars won't hesitate to go to the left ( knowing its a 2 way road ) to avoid a hole and there was a huge uncovered hole ( i think it was one of the old big sewer traps without the cover on it ) but i think that was closed.
So ya .. if you're going to Choueyfat, drive really really carefully ^^
