In the Maten by-election, they were paying people that they couldn't convince to vote against FPM (ye3ni, el-ma2too3 el-amal minnon to vote for Amine) just to stay home and not vote... under the pretense of not contributing to the inter-Christian tension, of course.

So we (the ones living outside) still hold some hope that, in order not to vote, they we will get us free tickets to a vacation spot other than our city of residence and other than Lebanon... under the pretense of not transferring the tensions in Lebanon to the expatriates' communities.

Aruba, here I come.

i've always been cautious about this whole expat voting. perhaps because the procedures and logistics have still not been exposed, discussed.

i mean if vote rigging in cooperation with the americans was accomplished INSIDE the country how much more outside?

who is to keep track of the votes AT each embassy/ consulate?

who is to keep an eye of the boxes from the consulates/embassies to the airports?

on the plane?

etc...

are we really going to have a representative from each party watching each and every box coming from overseas????

im all with expat voting. hell, it would make my life easier.... but someone please start detailing vote-integrity procedures for us.

The ballots will not be flown in... they will tally the votes at each embassy and transmit just the results, signed/certified by attending representatives of the candidates and the appointed representative of the election committee/authority (?)

I am knew at this but i would like to ask a question.
IF you live in the U.S and want to vote for HA MP wouldn't they take you to jail, cause its like supporting them and the U.S considers HA a terrorist group.

You will vote inside Lebanese territory: the Lebanese Embassy.

And what will stop them from looking at the names who voted for HA, and you know that they can do anything cause they dont draw any red lines for them selfs. Anyway we have to wait and see, if people started to go to jail i will be right if not you are right.

No one can tell who voted for whom... not the Embassy, not the Lebanese authorities, not the French authorities, and not the US authorities.
