في إطار ممارستهم الميليشياوية التي إرتفعت وتيرتها في الأشهر الأخيرة التي تفصل عن الإنتخابات النيابية في السابع من حزيران، قام إثنان من مرافقي رئيس الهيئة التنفيذية في القوات اللبنانية سمير جعجع بخطف مواطنين بقوة السلاح وفي وضح النهار على مستديرة عشقوت وذلك يوم تظاهرة 14 شباط. إلا أن السلطات الأمنية المعنية لاحقت المرافقيْن والقت القبض عليهما ونقلتهما الى إحدى ثكنات كسروان للتحقيق ومعرفة خلفية الخطف.
